First off guys I want to apologize for not posting in forever. I've been working my tail off at college especially as the semester is coming to a close very soon. Moving on from that:
As many of you know I have an extremely clean 2001 Nissan Maxima SE in the rare AX5 Merlot paint scheme with only 86k miles on her. On top of that she's been within the same family since new with the only owners being My Grandparents and Myself. Because of this I want to clean this Maxima up and make it the cleanest 5th Gen Maxima in the world! I also want to make it a tribute to the very special lady that gave me the car, my 85 year old Grandma!
How will this be accomplished?
In order the make this a tribute to my Grandma and the cleanest 5th Gen in the world there are quite a few things I would like to do. I'll talk about the few major things I'd like to do in this post then address the others in a later post.
1) Replace & Repair front and rear bumpers
When I got it this car had a few small blemishes on it including a large scrape on the front bumper and a dent in the rear bumper on the enger side as you can see in the following pictures.
It makes more sense and would be easier to replace both bumpers so that's what I'll do.
2) Get a 20th Anniversary Edition ground effects kit
In 2001 Nissan had a 20th anniversary edition of the nissan maxima and the major difference was a ground effects kit. These kits are hard to come by and are usually pretty expensive, sometimes being upwards to $100-$150 for each individual part, but I love the way it looks and think it would be a great addition to my Maxima.

I've found a cheap 20th anniversary maxima for sale online but it's a different color so I would need to get the bumpers & ground effects kit painted.
I also found a cheap 2001 maxima that is the Merlot color but it's not the 20th anniversary edition so I would need to buy the ground effects kit separate. But I would have 2 nice bumpers that I wouldn't have to get painted.
The final option is that I could just get some new Bumpers and get them painted.
The big question
Since I need new Bumpers and also want the 20th anniversary ground effects kit do you guys think I should just buy a cheap 20th anniversary edition Maxima parts car, but cheap regular 2001 Maxima parts car that's the Merlot color, or just get new unpainted bumpers and get them painted?
