I had to swing by local Ford dealer today to pick up a cable for driver inside door handle to locking latch. It broke few days ago and I can’t stand having to roll window down to open the door by pulling the outside handle.
Anyway, I happened to park next to couple brand new full size Broncos they had as their demo units. They do look much better in person, although I’m still not sure how I feel about them. They are pretty cool though.

A salesman pulled up and answered few questions. These two are about $60,000 each and about year out to order. But the base model starts at just over $30,000 for 2-door and just over $33,000 for 4-door, which is not that bad.
First time seeing these up close, which was pretty cool
Anyway, now the reason for my visit there. As I mentioned before, door latch cable broke, right at the inside handle. I don’t know why Ford engineers though it was necessary to put rivers in the on top of the bolts, instead of other solution, but it pissed me off plenty. It was either drill out 5-7 rivets, and re-rivet upon assembly, or bust out the grinder :joy: I don’t have rivets, the tool, and didn’t feel like going to get it and go through the trouble.

Just needed to make that access hole bigger lol

Can’t even tell

You are the only person that I know of that doesn't really care for how the Bronco looks. I was all over those trucks since the initial press photos. I'm curious to know what you don't like about it.
It’s not that I don’t like, I’m just not in love with it. I do think it’s pretty cool. I’d really like to drive one and compare it to Wrangler side by side, on and off road

I haven't driven one yet, but I can imagine on road would be better since the Bronco has IFS. Also the electronic sway bar disconnect could be great offroad. I personally like the look a lot, they balanced retro and modern design pretty well imo. What's really cool is how the Bronco basically scared Jeep into actually doing something new with the Wrangler, hybrid and v8 engines on the way, probably and EV one day. It's just good to see Jeep forced to improve such an old design because now they have some proper competition.
I drove by the local Ford dealer in search of a new bronco or maverick to look at. I pulled in and parked then looked around me and realized they had a dozen used cars and that was pretty much it. Of course almost immediately a salesman walked over to tell me I should trade in my pontiac on a new used Malibu but he didn’t keep pushing after I told him no we just shot the shit for a couple minutes and I left. Pretty disappointed but its weird because I can drive an hour to another dealer and the lots slap full
The lots here have been empty for a year
