To some of you, the intro to this post might be reminiscent of my #FA3Years post

And it should, they're near identical

Last year I described my journey in finding the fandom, and how I found myself apart of the community. If you have yet to hear that story, I encourage you to read #FA3Years

This year, I have something similar planned, que the familiar intro. But rather than telling the story of how I ed, I'm going to share the story of my experiences thus far

Is the beginning of Furry Amino's adventure.

And was founded by Lepus Lied

It would still be a year and several months before I found myself ing the scene. Because In 2016, I still had yet to have my furifying experience

Nov 24th, 2017

Marks both the start of my indoctrination into the fandom and my ing of this Community

About a week prior I had an experience that exponentially heightened my curiosity of the fandom and caused me to want to delve deeper

Through Furry YouTube and Google, I found a deeper desire to this fandom and Furry Amino is where I started

Hello

Was the name of my first ever post. Not only was I new to the Fandom and Community, I was also new to social media

Most everything that I was going to experience, would be totally new to me.

When I said that I was new, to this all I really meant it. Poor 2017 me didn't even know what #'s were

One Week in

My first week on Furry Amino was a wonderful one, I was welcomed warmly by several s and even made a few friends

My statements in this post, to this day, still remain to be true. Side the exception that it's my first week in the fandom

I'm ever grateful to those who welcomed me, and grateful still to others who have and had ed me along the way

Writing & Art

Around this time I tried my hand at both writing and artwork. I unfortunately haven't been super consistent, but a few works of mine exist deep in my profile

I wrote both short stories and stories for events, My favorite writing from this era would have to be heartbeat.

It didn't get much attention, but I'm still really fond of it

As for art, I started traditional just to see what I was capable of. I drew a few things, and even did an art trade, but didn't do much more after that unfortunately

FurDesign

Was the first event that I participated in and earned a title from, that being Furbulous :sparkles:

It was a t-shirt design competition and I it being a LOT of fun

This even incited one of my first interactions with staff as a bug had made my title disappear

Sai

Since day one I was looking for ways to bring my fursona to life and share him with the world

I spent many hours working on him and over the span of 2 weeks, and many junked iterations, I finally had a design that I was happy with

Sai's 1.0 design was made official on December 7th 2017 and since then he's only had a few minor design changes

Bad Apples

Not every interaction I had was good, I had and have had a several bad ones. One that is still documented is a who removed me from their chat because I wasn't Lvl. 12

I bring this up not because of what they did, but what I did. My original post actually got disabled because I didn't censor it and was too naive to consider it a callout

It was a valuable lesson and I took to the rules quite strongly afterwards

2018

New year, new me. Well, maybe not the latter, but at least new things

I made an 18 day post Challenge to commemorate. No one but myself participated, it's the thought that counts, right?

First Commission

My first ever commission was something special. Not only was it a new experience, it was a gift for someone who means a lot to me, my mom

The artist, Nip, helped to teach me how to buy commisions. And to this day, I still how kind and understanding she was through this process

The Dungeon Down Below

The Dungeon Down Below was by far one of my favorite events and was one of my largest collaborations

The openness of the event and the variety of submissions were amazing and, in my opinion, few events compare

18th Birthday

April 9th is my birthday and 2018 was the year of my 18th. It's a big moment! And legally, I'm now considered to be an adult

Dadgoose

Was the name of a Johnny, who are still my friends to this day

Spring Curator Application

After many months of being involved in this community, I wanted to contribute more. So I applied to be a curator

While I did not get hired through this round of applications, I did make it to the interviews and left still with a desire to help others.

Stickers

To many, stickers are purely cosmetic and something fun to send to friends. But to me, my sticker pack and it's creation means so much more

It's symbolic of my friendship with Maddie and my unwavering . I believed in her and gave her a chance when others did not.

And for that, I've had the privilege to watch her skills and confidence grow

Meeting a Fur

One of my most memorable moments of 2018 is meeting That.Flower.Elk in person. Known by the name of Klaue at the time, we met at Pikes Place for a day and just hung out

It might not sound like much, but to me it was. As they were the first fur for me to meet in person

We even have an in memoriam mini matching sculptures. Mine is named Rainier

Monthly Contest

Was a monthly writing contest that I helped run for several months. I believe it to be now disbanded, but it was fun to contribute to at the time

Uni

University was a drastic change in my life and schedule. And it has since provided me with many mixed experiences, on one hand I met furries IRL and met several influential people but on the other, I had to do a lot of studying

A Different Perspective

My submission for 2018's Halloween event was not only fun, but it also earned me my first ever feature. It was incredibly exciting to see many people see something that you worked so hard c lot to me on day one, a lot to me on his birthday and a lot to me still to this day

Anthro Northwest

Anthro Northwest was my first ever con and second ever feature. I had an amazing time, made brand new friends and had entirely new experiences

Sai's Birthday

Sai's 1st birthday was special, he still meant as much to me then as he did on day one, and to this day, that remains to be true

Curator Application

10 months after my second time, still determined to do more for the community

My determination paid off and about a month after applying, I was hired

A week into the job I made a staff appreciation post for how thankful I was to be given the prevlige to serve the community. I'm still thankful for that and what I said in that post still holds true

19th Birthday

My 19th birthday was special, the amount of and gifts I got was overwhelming and it deeply warmed heart

Sai's Makeover

When Sai got his 3rd ref sheet he also received his first and only design change, the black on his face no longer extends from his eyes to his ear

Denfur

Denfur holds a special place in my heart, because it was a con of many firsts.

In traveling to Denver, it was my first time traveling out of the state by myself as well as my first time flying. I also had the privilege to meet another member of the staff, EverydayHero

Fursuit

Since day one of being a furry I wanted a fursuit, so when I finally commissioned one from Lupesuits, I was ecstatic. To be able to suit as my own character would mean so much to me

Dawn

After so long of being a one character owner, I finally got around to making a secondary, that being Dawn. And her pallet is complimentary to Sai's

My First Relationship

On New Year's, I found special feelings for a special someone. That special someone being months together and I'm happy to have him in my life

I do hope to add more as time goes on

Community Service

I have been a staff member for over a year and I'm happy to have done so. This Community and the team that serves it means so much to me

Rough Waters

The past few months have been exceptionally difficult for me, I was placed on a break for a month and during that time, I contemplated many things, including retirement from the staff team

Fortunately this didn't happen and I'm still here strong as ever. I'm eternally grateful for all of the I received during this hard time of mine I don't know if I'd still be here otherwise

For the Future

The future is unpredictable, but I see good things. My Fursuit is scheduled to be completed in November and I have plans to start a YouTube channel with it

I'll be continuing my education and moderation of this Amino, here's to another year. I love you all.
