Tests are a relatively recent convention, from the past 150 years or so, when we really started educating the masses.
Tests on the American scale are absolutely novel, and came about in the last 25 years or so.
Just as it would have been unimaginable for my grandparents to experience the level of testing kids are experiencing, it may feel unimaginable for us to witness a world without this level of testing. But don't be fooled, reality can change quickly.
(But not quick enough because climate change is gonna kill my kids and myself long before they're subjected to education anyway)
It is amazing how fast things change in society and culture. I grew up in a world without cell phones and the internet. They are the cornerstone of the millennial generation.
The next generation will not be able to survive without the mind link or something.

Running a mile because I'm a runner at heart, and you forget how difficult multiple choice can really get if you think multiple options are correct, but can't figure out which one really is.
That is also true
Multiple Choice because you have the opportunity to explore what the exam writers put for each possible answer if they’re smart answers or just dumb answers. :sweat_smile:
