Ask Dadgoose #4 - the birds and the fams

HEY THERE Y’ALL

IT IS TIME...

For issue four of Ask Dadgoose! Where you ask me questions and I try to answer wisely.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

QUESTION ONE:

When I have to make dinner, it is crazy. I can make a breakfast ok or a sandwich ok. I can make some easy dinners ok, like mac and cheese. I can grill a hamburger or a hot dog. Those are single threaded tasks.

A true dinner can be a nightmare. Natasha is 100% the champ on dinners (she doesn’t believe this and is always super critical of herself but she wrong yo) and I am super lucky to have married a good chef :)

Tonight for example she made a delicious breakfast casserole for dinner. It was heavenly. :) She is awesome :)

QUESTION TWO:

Spilling tea? Well, everyone has spilled a drink from time to time...

Oh, you mean gossip. (I think that’s what you mean here)

It is bad to gossip. I would never want anyone to gossip and tell what I tell them in confidence to other people, so I do my best to keep the confidence and trust people have in me.

I’m not perfect - no one is - but if you strive be straight with people, they will trust you, and friendship can be real and authentic.

As an on here, I work to be that way. I will do my job if you break the rules. We will dispute if you believe you are in the right, and we will come to an accord. That’s the way I try to live here and in real life. :)

QUESTION THREE:

Chicken Nuggets are a dangerous, delicious food. They are the one meat that is closest to a chip and can be consumed with great vigor and/or FURIOUS INTENSITY.

Therefore, one must exercise caution when deciding to nug out. 4 pieces is the correct choice, usually.

That 4 piece happy meal - it is a balanced effort. You can even get an ice cream and not destroy yourself — AND YOU GET A TOY WAT THIS IS THE BEST THING I WANT A HAPPY MEAL RIGHT NOW

QUESTION FOUR:

Birds are interesting creatures. I guess my favorite would be the bald eagle. I saw one in the wild once - they are very impressive and you know AMERICA and all that.

I’m a mongoose and all but to be able to fly would be AWESOME. I envy you birds out there. But you know. MONGOOSE NINJA SKILLS HECC YA

QUESTION FIVE:

Being a parent is one part relieving your childhood, one part absolute joy, one part crippling fear, and one part crushing empathy.

You so often know what the correct decision, the correct answer, the right move is for your kids. But they fight you every step of the way, very often making the same mistakes you did. Sometimes they nail it and you are all MY KID IS THE SMARTEST ALIVE AND WE WILL RULE THE WORLD and other times they BREAK YOUR COPY OF SKYRIM YOU LITTLE-

*johnny calms down*

So it’s like that. Being a parent is a challenge, daily. It’s not for everyone. But it is rewarding in ways you will not realize, and you realize life is not solely not about you anymore - it is about your family. It is about your community. It is about raising and helping your kids be great.

So then it’s ok if you make dad jokes and do fortnite dances and wear dumb dad clothes, etc etc etc. Because your role has changed. And that’s ok.

On the second question? I am happy where I am. Sometimes I wish I had more financial security, but my choices were my choices and I gotta live with them. And it’s never too late to change things up until it is. So, i am joyful and satisfied :)
