“Without evil, nothing interesting will ever happen.”
The Evil Queen, also known as the Greatest Evil There Ever Was, and the original Queen of Chaos, is the antagonist and villain of the fairytale “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. She is an alumni of the Class of Classics of Ever After High. She was a royal and queen of her kingdom. She is currently in mirror prison for the crime of overstepping her story's boundaries and trying to take over all of the kingdoms in Ever After. She is a Rebel because she went off-script. She lives in Mirror Prison in the Mirror Realm behind every mirror in The World of Stories, alone.
Character
Personality
The Evil Queen went against destiny and took down Wonderland with her- and almost all of Ever After, too! Her rampage cost her her freedom and her life, and Raven lost her mother. By rebelling, she wasn't just playing an evil role. She became the much more frightening destiny-less kind of evil. The Evil Queen is a rebel, but not from her destiny. She enjoys being evil. When everything was totally off-script- even though it was her ken doing, she still managed to rule a kingdom and make her people love her and follow her. Insults hidden in praise are typical of the Evil Queen. Still, as evil as she is, the Evil Queen is still an elder with a lot of knowledge and experience.
True to her title, this fairytale villain is malicious, but like a true queen, she is also poised and regal, ambitious and a natural leader. She has much apathy for other people, and often has trouble trusting others as she would rather double-cross them. She knows how to talk her way out of a situation using exploitation of one's insecurities or manipulating feelings. The Evil Queen is an excellent schemer and strategist. She is notably intelligent and dedicated to her plans unless they lose their purpose. During the Dragon Games you can see her manipulative side as she manipulates Apple into freeing her from Mirror Prison and doing her bidding.
She disguises herself as a teenager in order to befriend Raven. The Teenage Evil Queen is an eternal thorn in Raven's side and the legendary fairytale who's bringing back the Dragon Games! Not to spread fables or anything, but we hear this new fairytale on the block may have a few evil tricks up her sleeve at the next Dragon Games match! There's never a dull moment when Mira Shards enters the Dragon Games arena!
Appearance
The Evil Queen is dark and beautiful. She is a statuesque woman with an unbearably dark aura to her appearance, which is intimidating and fearful. Even her frown is beautiful. The Evil Queen and Raven share the same strong brows, nose, and chin, and the same purple-tinted irises, pale skin. Like Raven, the queen had purple highlights streaking through her black hair, though usually she also had a little gray. Now the gray hairs were gone (she used sorcery to change their color). She has dark hair swept into a feathery crown-shaped up do and dark purple eyes with slate grey flecks. The Evil Queen sports black and dark purple-spiked hair.
Usually she wore a striped prison jumpsuit, but now she was dressed in a black-and-scarlet gown as if about to go out to dinner. Or to overthrow a
kingdom. She wears a feathered, intricate dark mermaid peplum gown. Her shoulder pads on her gown are adorned with large spiky purple feathers.
Her teenage disguise, Mira Shards, sports bright pink hair, a black and white color scheme and medium skin.
Interests
Since she was a teen, she always had an interest in studying Wonderland.
Fairytale
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Brief Plot
A queen sits during a winter snowfall when she pricks her finger with her needle, causing drops of blood to drip onto the freshly fallen snow on the black window sill. Then she says, "How I wish that I had a daughter who had skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood and hair as black as ebony." The queen dies giving birth to a daughter whom she names Snow White. Snow White's father the king marries again. His new wife is very beautiful, but a vain and wicked woman who practices witchcraft. The new queen possesses a magic mirror which she asks every morning "Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?" The magic mirror always tells the queen that she is the fairest.
As she grows older, Snow White’s fairness sures that of her stepmother. When the Queen again asks her magic mirror the same question, it tells her that Snow White is the fairest. The Queen becomes envious. Eventually, she orders a huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and kill her. The huntsman takes Snow White into the forest, but after seeing the tears in the princess's eyes, the huntsman agrees to spare Snow White. After wandering through the forest for hours, Snow White discovers a tiny cottage belonging to a group of seven dwarfs. When the seven dwarfs return home, they discover Snow White.
She tells them about her stepmother's attempt to kill her, and the seven dwarfs let her stay with them in exchange for a job as a housemaid. Snow White grows into a beautiful young maiden. Meanwhile, the queen asks her magic mirror once again "Mirror mirror on the wall, who now is the fairest one of all?" The magic mirror tells her that not only is Snow White still the fairest in the land, but is also currently with the dwarfs. The Queen is furious and decides to kill her herself. First, she appears at the dwarfs' cottage, disguised as an old peddler and offers Snow White a laced bodice as a present. The queen laces her up so tightly that Snow White faints.
The seven dwarfs return just in time to revive Snow White by loosening the laces. Next, the queen dresses up as a comb seller strokes Snow White's hair with the poisoned comb. The girl is overcome by the poison from the comb, but is again revived by the dwarfs when they remove the comb from her hair. Finally, the queen disguises herself as a farmer's wife and offers Snow White an apple that is secretly poisoned. The girl takes a bite and then falls into a coma, causing the Queen to think she has finally triumphed.
The dwarfs are unable to revive Snow White, and, assuming that the queen has finally killed her, they place her in a glass casket. Some time later, a prince stumbles upon Snow White. After hearing her story, the prince is allowed to take Snow White to her proper resting place back at her father's castle. While Snow White is being transported, one of the prince's servants trips. This dislodges the piece of the poisoned apple from Snow White's throat, magically reviving her. The Prince is overjoyed, and he declares his love for Snow White who accepts his marriage proposal. The prince invites everyone in the land to their wedding except for Snow White's stepmother.
Relationships
Family
Raven is not like her at all. Still, she loves her very much and looks forward to the day when Raven rises to the occasion and takes hold of her evil destiny.
She and the Good King are the parents of Raven Queen. She is often grooming her daughter Raven to follow in her footsteps, which she never succeeds at. She used to lock Raven in her room as punishment for being kind. She has been conditioning her daughter her whole life to take after her: bringing her to war meetings with her generals, teaching her to brew potions and poisons, and scolding her for acts of goodness, e.g. apologizing. She wants Raven to follow her destiny in the Snow White story and be evil. The Evil Queen and Raven only get one yearly MirrorChat. The Evil Queen raised Raven with neglect, curtness, and years of evil training.
Friends
The Evil Queen is an associate of the Sea Witch, and one time the witch went to one of the Evil Queen’s evil dinner parties.
Roommate
Her roommate at Ever After High was Little Red Riding Hood.
Romance
The Evil Queen is married to the Good King. He and the Evil Queen are the parents of Raven Queen. He married her, despite knowing he’d never be happy with her, because it was in the script. However, the Evil Queen unexpectedly fell in love with Good King shortly after their marriage together, and eventually Raven was born sometime in their first or second year of being married. Unfortunately this love didn’t last long due to their differences in morals and disagreements over the Evil Queen’s evil servants and methods, and a few years into their marriage, they separated.
Queen Castle was split in half down the middle because the Good King didn’t feel comfortable around all his wife’s warrior and goblin servants and allies, especially since they often talked about eating “people meat”. The Good King took the smaller portion with the servants, and Raven spent half of each week with him. The summer before Legacy Year, The Evil Queen called him a “mind-numbing excuse for a man”. The Evil Queen wrote that she didn’t don’t know what that man was thinking when he gave Raven a puppy for her sixth birthday. She remarks that a week with the Good King would be boring. The Evil Queen snorts at the idea of Raven being like her father.
She was wise enough to know that Raven wouldn’t be talking with her if her father was around to entertain her. She also says that the Good King never knows how to say no to his loyal subjects.
Pets
Every second-year student gets a pet before Legacy Day during a ceremony in the Enchanted Forest. The exception is if they are from Wonderland and transferred from Wonderland High, since the Wonderlandians have their own pet ceremony.
The Evil Queen was chosen by a wicked dragon in the Dragon Games which she named Jinx. The Evil Queen’s baby dragon curses other dragons with bad luck - spella yikes!
Adversaries
Outside of her story, she has a strong adversary in Heaster Grimm. Sometime when Raven was a child or young teenager, The Evil Queen decided to overstep the bounds of her story and try to invade and take over other stories and lands, including the Sleeping Beauty story and Wonderland. She eventually put an evil curse over Wonderland causing its madness to spiral out of control, which was the final straw leading to Giles and Milton Grimm stopping her and imprisoning her in Mirror Prison. Heaster Grimm told everyone that she died so they wouldn’t worry, and Raven is not supposed to tell. She’s actually in mirror prison. No one’s ever escaped from mirror prison.
Snow White is her nemesis.
