Learning to rear

Pepper has started learning the rear!

I was doing some liberty training with Pepper, and decided to try a tutorial i saw on teaching your horse to rear.

I put her against the fence as she moves A LOT and likes to just run to the side, and this would help me get a more upward motion. She really didnt like it. But i noticed when i would slap the whip on the ground upwards, she would rear.

So i droped that method and tried my own idea.

I would walk to the middle of the arena, and taught her to back up when i drag my whip in a snake like motion from side to side

Then i would tap and then slap the whip upward to make her rear and reward

Sometimes so would do a buck or a low effort rear. So i would ask again till i got something i was happy with

Pepper started abusing it very fast, doing it when i just moved the whip or asked her to back up. So i would just say no and keep asking untill she backed up normally, and would slap the whip with low energy, untill she just stood still.

Also only allowed her to rear when i slapped the whip with energy AND used my 'UP' que

I will teach her to not rear at all unless i have a whip in my hands.
