Here's our process so far
Sorry for the bad angle or when its so small. I sadly only have a pole to film
On a lead everything goes perfect. With turning, a half turn, everything i do she stays with me nicely.

But as soon as the lead goes off, she doesn't really follow me anymore. She sluggishly follows me, but easily hooks off
Here i got her back after walking off, and i rewarded

Sorry for the bad quality, i hope you guys can see it a little, but its the only way amino would let me put these in...
Do you guys have any ideas or tips to help train her to stay with me? Any help is much appreciated =3

Before I fully unclipped the lead rope from Blue, I used to drape the lead rope over his neck and hold a loose end of it. This way I still had slight control over him, but it was taking a step in the direction of follow the leader. From there, I carried a treat in my hand but let go of the lead rope and just let it swing on his neck. The horse knows that they have the freedom to stray away from you, but you still have training wheels because they recognize that the lead rope usually means follow. I slowly transitioned from that to no lead rope, and he responded well. Every time he strayed away, I would drape the lead rope around his neck again and repeat the process.
Also, mix it up! Try and keep the horse attentive by doing different things with them. Try switching directions when she strays away from one, or backing up when she looses interest in following you forward.
This is probably been said by other people, but I thought I’d try to help anyways :joy:
Actually i think this is the best option to try with her! Thanks!

Glad I could help! Np!
I agree with everything said so far. She also may have excess energy and now that there’s no lead she is trying to let some energy out. Maybe try encouraging her to move out a bit more then call her back
I have moved her when she wasnt interested and she calls back super easily, but it doesnt seem to help her stick more
To add on to what Bea is saying, you could also try targeting or making a recall. So make a certain noise every time you give her a treat and slowly move further and further away while she is on a leadline then keep rewarding for when she comes to get the treat after you make that noise. Another thing you could try is teach her to Target your hand or an object with her nose. It's really easy to teach. :) Just simply reward for even the slightest touch at first then begin to make her follow the target.
