What is me and my horses names?

I mainly react to Mivsen, but call me whatever. The ponies are Ronja and Fussi. Until recently also Ditte and I believe it should be mentioned I also work with Sofie

About me and the ponies

There's not much to say, really. We mainly just have fun. I'm always working to improve their happiness and how they feel come above everything else.

I've had Fussi the longest. He's 20-25 years and just an old man. Due to poor legs and hooves, that's our main work, which currently means going for short walks to stimulate healthy hooves. He's the best child pony ever, to the point we rarely bother caring if he escape and catching if he does. During our walks I rarely even hold his lead rope, yet he'll notice and come if I turn around and change the route. 100% trustworthy in every situation possible.

Ronja i've had for 4 years. She was supposed to be my riding pony, but I rarely rode her and have now completely stopped. She simply don't enjoy riding due to previous pain from an ill fitting saddle and will go lame from stress if ridden. She's 19 and also have a wreck of a body. When I got her she was so stiff she literally could not bend, no matter what. After starting intrinzen training, she's much better with bending and now enjoy moving and can actually move whenever she feels like it, just because that's how good she's feeling now. She also loooove training, especially free lunging is a favorite (coming from the horse I thought didn't know how to be lunged because she simply refused to do it) a great pony who's life was changed by R+ and intrinzen

Sofie isn't mine, but have lived here as long as Ronja. They're best friends, even though Sofie is only 11. When she was bought, all She knew was to stand in a stall, walk to pasture and be in a pasture. Not even halter trained. Her owner have taught her everything and i've had some fun at liberty along with working on hooves and halter training, since her owner isn't here that often so we can't count on her being here for farrier etc and I need Sofie to be just as good with me for stuff like that. Sofie is the type of horse that's just happy to be here and no matter the training method (as long as it's ethical of course) she's happy to be with humans. She's still a very happy mainly R+ trained horse, as that's what both her owner and I prefer to train with.

Ditte got put down this year, May 5th, after being with us for 2.5 years. Absolute heart horse, i'm still not okay. I didn't know anything when I got her and ended up being able to help her through her food anxiety and generally be able to feel good in life and not constantly stressed. It was a work in progress, but going really well. She was 100% a horse before anything else and refused to let a human control her as their toy. She needed freedom in everything and once She got that, she turned into the most amazing little horse. Really a horse of a lifetime. Plz give me a new purpose in life, I miss my girl :')

Have I tried liberty or trick training?

Yup! Mainly liberty, considering trick training isn't a high priority for me and we have so much to work on. I train everything at liberty with R+ whether it's something important like lifting hooves and having a halter on or just fun stuff like playing or tricks (though play is soooo important for their body!) So definitely over a years experience of only liberty training and before that I was also working a bit with it.

What is my favorite trick?

I'm not sure. Whatever makes the horse feel absolutely awesome I would say :joy: I really like crunches though, gotta work those core muscle so they can self half halt and be awesome and strong :muscle: 🏻Target training is also super usefull. For actual trick I think kiss is pretty cute

What is my goal?

Happy, healthy horses, quite simple. I want them to feel good with themselves, be happy to move, always have a choice in training and of course be healthy

For how long have you been an equestrian?

Well :sweat_smile: I've lived on a property with horses since I was 4. Taken care of them by myself since I was 10. When I was 11-12 I started looking into training and basically started in the opposite end of where I am today. At 13 I started taking riding lessons. Around 2 years ago, at 15, I started with R+ and liberty but not fully. And for the past 1+ year i've been all in on liberty, I think it was march 2019 I did that. So I would say been an equestrian for 6 years, ridden for 4 years, done liberty for 2 and during the 4 years of trying to train before I learned about the science part of training, I generally just tried different stuff from Clinton Anderson (Which i quickly realized where abusive and only recently helped Fussi through his fear of whips coming from trying his methods once) to natural Horsemanship to straightness training and art to ride. Some of the first things were abusive/borderline abusive and I didn't realize because I was young and had no idea how a popular trainer could be treating horses like that, but most of the things where actually really nice methods and such, it just didn't fit with me and my ponies.
