My First Clinic!

Hey there EA! Welcome back to another post! Today I am going to share with you what happened at my very first clinic! So, without further ado, let’s get into today’s post!

This clinic was a Western Games Horsemanship clinic, and I brought Flicka so she could get some more experience and so I could get to know her better. When we arrived I groomed her and tacked her up, then went to go warm up in the arena. She was very hyper and wanting to go, but that’s typical Flick.

After we warmed up, everyone was called into a circle to introduce ourselves and meet our coach for the clinic, everyone was super nice!

We started with gait consistency and quick and quiet halts, which Flick wasn’t a huge fan of. She kept either speeding up or not wanting to stop, but eventually she got it and we got some good laps!

Then afterwards we worked on side ing, which I was really curious to see how Flicka would do. Apparently, she can side really well! She was also starting to settle down, which made things easier. I don’t have video of it unfortunately, though.

Next we worked on circles. I hadn’t had a chance before this to work with her on circles, so I was excited to see what she would do! She was great and I am so pleased with her!

Once we were all finished with circles, the clinic was over. I walked Flick around a few laps to cool her off, then I exited the arena and dismounted. I brought her back to the trailer and untacked, loaded her up and back home we went!

I am super proud of how Flicka and I did! It was a great learning experience and I had so much fun! Here is a little uhh, fail, I guess before we wrap this post up!

I hope you guys enjoyed today’s post! It was such a great first clinic makes me want to do more of them as soon as possible! Anyway, I hope to see you guys next time!

Aidos!
