Riding with a Fractured Finger!

Hey EA! Welcome back to another post! Today I had a riding lesson, but with a little bit of a twist! So, let’s get into it!

So, I was originally going to bring Flicka to my lesson, but we fought with her for about a half an hour to get in the trailer. If we fought with her any longer we would have been late, so we just decided to bring her back to her stall and use Beckett.

Now, if you didn’t see my last post, you can find it here, it will explain this post a little better. Long story short, I fractured my finger, but I still wanted to ride so I did. It was a little hard for me to groom and tack up, but I figured it out. I walked Beckett a couple laps and then I got on.

I was surprised when I got on, I thought it was going to be a little harder to grab the reins and guide him but it wasn’t as bad I thought. I started at a walk to let Beckett warm up and get used to riding with my finger. When I moved into a trot it was a little harder to work with but I managed.

I didn’t get many videos but there are a few. When I switched directions, I had to put my crop in the hand with my broken finger. It was a little harder to turn because I now had a crop in my hand that was already struggling, and my finger was starting to hurt a little bit. I did ride the whole lesson and it was super fun, plus it’s a experience that I’ll never forget.

Thanks so much for reading today’s post! I never wanted to fracture my finger but at least I still got to ride! I hope to see you guys in the next post!

Goodbye!
