I got to the barn around 7:30, and went to catch Bailey. She was all the way at the other side of her pasture, so I went to the other gate and walked her down a different path. It was so nice over here this morning, but it ended up getting super hot later.
I groomed the mare quickly, and then tacked her up. Today I used a pink and navy blue saddle pad, with a matching bonnet. She looked so cute in it! I got myself ready, and then turned on my Equilab to track my ride. A review on the app will be here later on in this post. It was my first time using it, so I was pretty excited to see how it worked.
I hopped on once I got to the arena, making sure everything was adjusted correctly. We picked up trot, and we worked on bending. Being trained for racing when she was younger, she was only trained on her left lead/her left so right is pretty hard for her. We’re working on the right side, but it’s quite hard. We’ll get there one day :muscle: ! We did a nice, long warmup, and then started to jump.
We did two small courses, and then I hopped off. I untacked her, and went to go give her a shower.

Olivia had asked me while we were riding, if I wanted to do a bubble bath with her. Of course I said yes, so that’s what we did! Bailey hasn’t ever had one, and she really enjoyed it. I rinsed her down first, getting her wet so that the soap would “activate” and become all bubbly. I scrubbed her all over, making sure she was thoroughly covered. Then we let the mares choose their sponges. Bailey chose the pineapple one, and Juliet, Olivia’s pony, chose the popsicle one. I got the sponge wet, put some more soap on it, and scrubbed her again. Then came the process of washing the soap off.
I hosed her off the best I could on her left side. I then sweat scraped her to get the water off, and curry combed her to loosen up any soap that had been left on her coat. I rinsed her off again, and then did the same thing to her right side.
After her bubble bath, I put swat on her cuts, out hoof oil on her, as well as fly spray. I gave her a few treats, and tried to teach her a trick, but she wasn’t a fan :joy: . Me and Olivia hung out with the horses for a while, letting them dry, and then walked them out to their pastures.

And here’s an added bonus to the post, an Equilab review. Equilab is actually really cool, so let me tell y’all about it!

It looks kind of confusing at first, but the key helps. When you get the app, you have to make an and turn your location on so it will work. I made my location to where it only turns on if I’m using this app, since I don’t like having mine on. When your about to start riding, press “start ride” and it will start tracking you. When your done, press “stop ride” and it’ll stop tracking you. Then you can type in the details about your ride, such as the horse you rode, your performance, the horses performance, details about it, the ground texture, and a few other things. I find the app really cool, and you should totally go check it out!
