A Whole Lot of Stuff

Today is just gonna be a whole lot of stuff mashed up into one post! Because this post is gonna get wild I suggest you put your helmets on and proceed with caution!

Topic 1: Rated Show?

This was about a month ago but in late June, I had the amazing opportunity to go to a rated show! I actually went to watch this show last but this year I competed in it! If you want to read the post from last year check this post out!

Anyways, let’s start a few days before we left for the show! I was originally gonna take Leonardo to this show and I had done all that I could to get both of us ready to compete and do well. I had done multiple private lessons on him and done multiple schooling dressage shows and done multiple practice rides on him just to prepare!

Then about a day before we were gonna leave for the show, Leonardo got sick :sweat: 🤦🏻‍♀. So I was stuck in a bit of a pickle! Then Ashley my amazing coach who I love to death and am so thankful for gave me an AMAZING opportunity. She basically said, get on Polar and Bruno and run through both tests on both horses and see which one is better. When she told me I could do that and Polar was an option I almost broke down in tears from pure happiness.

After all that had happened, both Ashley and I decided that I was definitely going to bring Polar. When she said I could bring him for sure I actually broke down in tears, again from happiness. I did an in prompt to private with Ashley on him and then bathed him for a legit hour trying to get him as white as humanly possible. I then grazed him for a long time and then my mom took some super nice pictures of Polar and I :two_hearts: .

The next morning braided and we bathe him yet again! Then we put his shipping boots, sleezy, and head bumper on and head outside and wait to load into the trailer! Keep in mind Polar had never been off property! So when I was loading him I muttered to myself, “Well. Here goes nothing!”

About an hour and a half later we get to the show venue and unload the horses from the trailer! Once we have gotten sort of settled we tack up and go on a little hack around the place! I will put a picture of that below!

Then we set up the rest of our stuff and went to the hotel! Pretty much our entire team was in the same hotel so when we got back to the hotel, we all went in the pool and played a huge and extremely fun game of monkey in the middle! Then we went to sleep to prepare for the the next morning which was the first morning of competition!

The next day was the first day of competition and so we got all the stains out of Polar and tacked up! Before you know it we were on our way to the warm up ring! I then warmed up for a bit and headed to one of the rings to do my first test and then went back to the warm up ring, warmed up a bit more, than did my second test of the day! I ended the first day of competition with two fifth places!

For the second day of competition, we did practically the exact same thing but we did a whole lot better! My guess as to why this happened is because I was way less nervous the second day than I was the first day! So we ended the last day with two third places!!

Part 2: New Horses :eyes:

My barn got some new horses and I got to say they are pretty darn cute! So let’s go through them all!

This one is Rumor! She is a dark bay/black pony mare who for sure has some sass! I haven’t ridden her yet but she has been in my lessons and those lessons are always interesting! She clearly doesn’t know what is so you put the slightest bit of leg on and she’s off like a rocket. Then you half halt the slightest bit and she dead stops. That’s Rumor for ya!

MOOOOOO!! Gosh I love this pony! This adorable guy’s name is Moo and he actually looks a little like a cow (hence the name :joy: ). This guy is a complete beginner horse and he is so perfect and sweet I don’t even know what else to say :two_hearts: .
