Spark stalked through the undergrowth, her eyes locked onto a bluejay. She quickly let out a small chirp, stepping back into the thick bushes. The bluejay hopped towards her, chirping back. Spark quickly leaped at the bird, locking her jaws on its wing. The bird let out a warning call, it's blue feathers shining in the dawn light. Spark wrapped her paws around it's body, snapping it's neck with her left paw. She panted, her tongue hanging out of her open jaws. She quickly grabbed the bluejay, stalking back to a large fallen tree. "Dove, Dove where are you?" Spark jumped around, looking for her friend. "I'm getting some sun on the log!" Spark sighed with relief, leaping atop the log. She dropped the bluejay, nudging it towards the pretty gray she-cat. "It's all I could find." Dove chuckled, her green eyes shining. "This is more than enough for me." Spark sighed, stalking back into the undergrowth. "Where are you going?" Spark stopped, glaring back at Dove. "I'm getting lunch, it will probably take a while to find so I'm heading out early." Dove leaped down, still chewing on a piece of the bluejay. "Take a break for a while! I could hunt for myself!" Dove frowned at Spark, Spark couldn't get over how adorable, and kit like she looked. "No offense, but you're about ready to pop!" Dove groaned, going back to eat the bluejay.
The rain beat down hard on Spark's face, blocking all her senses but touch. Suddenly a large cat crashed into her, their gray tabby fur barely visible in the dark rain. She quickly began clawing clumsily at her attacker, unable to see if she was even harming them. Suddenly she felt fur and blood as they clung to her claws. Spark looked as the tabby started choking on their own blood, she had killed them. The cat callopsed on top of her, their blood soaking into her fur. She quickly wiggled out from under them, looking down at their body as it twitched before going limp. "No no no! You can't be dead!" Spark quickly covered the wound in their neck with her paw, putting her nose into the chest to feel for a heartbeat. Nothing. She quickly glanced around, noticing no other cats. She stared down at the cat's body, her stomach burning from hunger. A thought entered her mind, cruel, but maybe the only thing that would keep her from starving. She crouched down beside the cat, slowly parting her jaws before she slowly bit back down. She slowly began chewing on the meat, swallowing after a long while. She continued eating off the cat, growing quicker with each bite before she was barely even chewing the meat. Maybe she could live this way, and Dove could continue eating the prey she caught.
Spark returned to Dove with a plump squirrel. "You should eat, you'll get too weak to hunt if you don't." Spark shook her head, dropping the squirrel. "I cought a couple mice while I was out there. I already ate them." Spark hated to lie to her younher aunt, but she had to. How would she explain what happened to Dove. "Did you get in a fight?" Spark jumped a little, staring at Dove. "How'd you know?" Dove pointed to Sparks hind leg. "There's claw marks. I can treat the wound if you want." Spark hesitated before resting beside Dove. "Sure. It's starting to hurt." Spark started to drift to sleep for the first time in what seemed like an eternity. Being comforted by Dove's sweet scent. Visions of the cat she killed flashing in her mind as she slept. She would worry about that later, for now her and Dove were doing just fine.
