So we're doing this again.
This is my second ukulele progress post (weeb edition). You can check out my first progress post if you're curious about how this series (if you can even call it that) started out.
So I've been playing a lot of guitar lately due to the current situation, but a week ago I realised how much I've been neglecting my ukulele. Like I forget it's even there most of the time. But now that I'm low-key sick of guitar, it's time to pick up the tropical bass once again.
Let's first begin with an easy song.
I didn't completely forget everything I've learnt a couple of months ago (though I've totally forgotten how to play Canon in D major). It took like 10 minutes of practice but now I how to play Il Vento D'oro from Jojo. I know this isn't exactly an "easy song" but this ukulele arrangement made by a channel called About Ukulele is very simple.
Don't do drugs, kids. Drugs bad. Ukulele good.

If there are any new people here who are confused about the big beautiful egg in the video, that's me. Definitely not an old pfp edited in to hide my face. That's how I look like irl. I know, I'm gorgeous. You're probably scrolling to the comment box to tell me how gorgeous I am but don't worry, I already know.
That was nice. There's still more to that arrangement but we don't have time for that.
Because now it's time to force my left hand through the nine circles of hell.
I tried looking for a decent anime ukulele cover that provides tabs which turned out to be rarer than anime openings without characters running in them. Took a lot of searching (since finding good ukulele tabs is hard af) but I finally found this one youtuber called Cody Ukulele. The Gurenge cover I'm about to play was arranged by him so go check him out. He obviously played it better than me so watch his video if you want to hear a full and better version of this cover. Anyway it's Demon Slayer time.
BOKU WOO
TSURETEEE
SUSUMEEEEEE
Yea I'm not getting Amino+ sooo I'm just gonna put bits and pieces of the cover (or my attempt at a cover) here.
The smaller egg pic symbolises my diminishing brain cells as I attempt to play this arrangement. And I was lazy to edit it the right size but whatever
So before I continue, here's a little info about ukuleles.
The guy who arranged this cover played it on a tenor ukulele. What's a tenor ukulele you ask? Here are the different types of ukuleles.

A tenor ukulele is slightly bigger than a concert ukulele and can have up to 25 frets. Since it's larger, it gives a fuller sound with more :b: A S S while still sounding like a ukulele. A baritone ukulele has the deepest sound and sounds really similar to a guitar. Especially with the tuning.
I own a concert ukulele and I really like it. I definitely prefer the greater number of frets it has compared to the traditional soprano ukulele. Though after playing for a while I'm really considering getting a tenor ukulele. I feel like it'll be easier for me to play on especially with the wider spacing between frets.
If you're planning to buy a ukulele, or any kind of instrument for that matter, it'll help to study more about it first. Gotta take tone, scale, and fret spacing into consideration before design.
Or you could just do what I did and get the cheapest one at the store idk 🤷♀
Okay so what was I doing?
Oh yeah
The slightly bigger egg symbolises my growing anxiety when I realised my face was visible on the video.
Ah cringe. All those mistakes. Sorry, I was rushing ;-;
Oh and idk what was with the extra white noise in that clip. Sry couldn't fix it
I'll be skipping the next part since it's pretty much the same as the beginning
Yeah my left hand was definitely not feeling this. But now I've sort of gotten used to it that I barely feel the pain anymore. Tbh this was good exercise for my left pinky. Idk why but my pinky feel so much more p o w e r f u l now.

Ahahaha the frets on the uke are so small that even my small ass hand can stretch from the 1st to the 7th fret. It feels good. I feel p o w e r f u l.
Though my right thumb can't say the same. I was strumming so fast that I kept hitting the back of my thumb against the strings. Now I wish I didn't cut the nails of my strumming hand.
It took me 3 days to learn this song. Sure I still make a lot of mistakes while playing but I think this is a nice improvement from what I was doing in my last post. Y'all should give it a shot if you have a uke.
Finally, it's over.
Ngl, really liking the tropical bass so far. Who knows, I might even do another one of these posts. I just don't like how it murders my hands but that's probably because of my inexperience, not the ukulele's fault.
I've been really rushing to finish this post. Gotta go feed my family of 42 kids, link to my patreon down below. Hope you learned something from this very educational post. Arrivederci.
