Wine and Cheese

A ghost without a sheet aint there,

Dialogue, alone, a prayer,

Bare feet with no blanket, cold,

The fanciest cheese is still just mold.

A cat with no purr, don't cuddle,

Water, not spilled, wont puddle,

A dog with no bark, must bite,

A poet, with a conscious, must write.

A firefly, without fire, is just a fly,

And me without you, I'm just some guy,

A silly poem without inspiration,

Is simply sad futile flirtation.

A cheese with no holes, aint swiss,

A mouthless worm can't blow a kiss

A cat and dog and ghost and fly,

Can never know the reasons why.
