I wouldn’t refuse to read an a book that otherwise sounded interesting because of a bad title, but they are super important for my own stories.
In my opinion, the best titles don’t try to capture events within the story but rather it’s overall theme. ‘Red Dawn’ is a great example. I’ve never seen the film but the title alone evokes this image of people waking up to find communism has come for them which captures the essence of the movie far better than something like ‘The Siege of The West’.
