Everyone always seems to either love or hate the movie adaptation of a book, so I have to ask what do you look for in movie adaptations? Which movies fit your criteria and which don’t? #perfectadaptations cover
Plot-
each movie is only around 2 hrs, yet needs to cover the majority of the plot. What do you keep from the book and what do you leave out?
Characters-
Not every character will probably be able to have a spotlight. Which minor characters would you choose to have more lines? What do you look for in the cast? Every physical feature described to be the same in the actor? Or just the general personality?
Scenery-
How about the scenery? Not every setting will probably be used. What one’s are the most important to portray? How should they be portrayed? With mainly CGI or props?

For me I think that if it becomes perfect for you it wouldn't be for someone else since we are not the same so the one's that make the movie have a difficult task since they can't satisfy everyone they try their best so I'm good the way it is now
Just make a TV show instead of a movie, more time for plot and characters, problem solved.
I don't believe there is such thing as a perfect adaptation yet. Pretty much all movies that I have seen that have been adapted from the book have been messed up somewhere along the way. I don't even believe I could make a perfect adaptation, and I consider myself to be a pretty good/decent writer. Although, I do think it's possible, and I'll definitely be on the lookout for posts of this!

See, I haven't read Lord of the Rings yet (kinda of because of the detail, which is great, just kind of unnecessary, like you said). But I believe you because the movies are amazing. I just need to read the books for comparison.

I Think Detail is great when it is ina reasonable amount. For example the detail in the Harry Potter books made it superior to the movies because you could actually understand a lot more
But with lord of the rings I just feel like he described every tree branch
Which is kind of annoying XD

Going to do this!!
Yay can’t wait to see it!
Do we choose a book and discuss how we would turn it into a movie?
Yep you can do that or you can talk about turning books into movies in general
