Even before the birth of the universe, there existed three Ravens. One following the other, they soar throughout reality itself bringing a never-ending cycle of life, death, and rebirth.
The Fire Raven leads the infinite flight. Breathing his boons of ion and chaos into all living creatures. Civilisations thrive under the Fire Raven’s gaze. Cities are built, trade flourishes, wars are waged, and always, life advances.
The most dangerous thing about a fire is what it inevitably gives way to. Smoke.
The second Raven follows the first as sure as night follows day, casting the world in a darkness so complete that even moonlight fails. The Black Raven is the death of a world. Is it she who reclaims the breaths, allowing the wisps to waft away into nothingness.
Just as life must always come to an end, so too must death.
The Water Raven brings with her the seeds of new life. Through the ruined world she flies, creating oasis’ from which new and unique life springs forth. She instils within this life but a single desire. The desire to keep on living.
——
In time’s long past, there lived a girl,
A girl who thought to challenge the world.
At seven years old, she’d barely tasted fire,
Yet The Black One came, indifferent to her desire.
“This world is done now child; at long last you can retire.”
With nostrils flared, she shouted out into the dark. “Liar Liar Liar!”
The Raven, shocked, halted her flight,
“Child, please understand, you cannot live without light.”
“Stop calling me ‘Child’ you malevolent blight!
The light is not gone, you’ve hidden it from sight!”
“How dare you!” The Raven screeched at the girl lost in the night.
“Do you think me evil? Do you think I kill out of spite?
You do not understand the Raven’s plight!
You do not understand the infinite flight!”
The girl’s lip curled. “Shut your ugly beak!
I won’t hear anymore of these lies you shriek!
You hide the moon and in darkness you sneak.
You fear its power! Its light makes you look weak!
You birds think yourselves needed, but that isn’t true,
The world only needs the others because of what you do!”
Regaining her patience, The Raven allowed the moonlight to fall.
“Child, I’m afraid you still don’t understand our call.
Just as they need to undo my effects, I need to undo theirs.
We work in an endless cycle to maintain the state of affairs.”
“This child understands that you own this world.
This child understands that you don’t want to share.
This child understands you’re keeping us at the bottom of your infinite set of stairs.”
The girl looked to the moon as the light hit her face.
She felt its power; she felt its embrace.
“This child understands you work together in your call,
And now you’ve given me the tool with which I’ll end you all.”

I'm definitely going to slap Poots and Paddletop unto something I write.
This is really good,I can't possibly imagine how I could inspire you to write something this amazing.
I'm head over heels in love with it.
This was stupendously good. The poetic story swept me off my feet and washed me down a river of vivid emotion. I'm awed and honored to have been a part of the inspiration for this.
