I often wonder about the adventures the animal kingdom goes through. Nature is so well programmed and created. Animals have the instinct to migrate and move, looking for better conditions such as appropriate homes and cozier environments.

One example are the swallows that reach the roofs when the spring draws near. You’ll see them build their nests under the roof tiles. Deep into the flowery season, you hear the roof chirping, hungry for food, a cacophony of despair mixed with the miracle of birth.

Imagining how such tiny birds travel miles and miles every year. They’ve seen every city and every ocean. They’ve met all the sides of the moon and all the angles of the sun. They’ve seen every animal on the planet, and now they have chosen you to be their rent free roommate.

Another interesting being is the salmon. Moved only by natural instinct, it’s impressive how resilient they appear when it’s time to return to their place of beginnings. An honorable move by the mothers of entire generations.

Despite all the dangers ahead, they march on against the current, leaving the vast sea to enter the strong flux of the river. Jumping and swimming with all their might, they won’t rest until they arrive at the place they’re meant to find.

Nature taught us how to persevere in the face of hardships. We’re born with the instinct of overcoming any obstacle to achieve our goals, but generally we just lack the resilience, the will, and the wild instinct of survival of swallows and salmon. We could learn some things from them.
