She held the fire of immortal dreams,
Tight within her fists as they burned through her paper skin,
blisters blooming through her fingers like wildflowers through the gentle earth,
fighting through the dark to reach the rays of the eternal sun.
She wore an armour,
of glacial indifference,
used her smiles as radiant as the summer sky,
to hide the tears within like the stalactites growing longer and longer with time,
with the accumulation of pain,
for strength flowed like the creepers of iron through her veins,
as she fought for her place in the world.
inside the cave of her hollow heart.
Breathing in the toxic fumes,
ri from the funeral of soothing lies,
the ones she killed,
choking them off with her bare hands,
embracing the bitterness of the harrowing reality,
trading the blissful daydreams of the illusions of sweet impossibilities for ghoulish nightmares of the stark reality,
for she wanted to rise,
and touch the stars with her fingertips,
but keep her toes digging into the soft earth,
searching for her roots.
She rose from the ashes of her dying soul,
Never begging for the forgiveness,
for she never let the world see her inside,
where she bled from years of despair,
the scars that marred her with the marks of valour.
She won all wars with her head held high,
but could never remove the armour of her past.
For no matter,
how many times they told her,
the war was over,
She could never believe in peace again.
