Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Here in the Midwest, we have record breaking temperatures coming our way. And of course it's the week my family is going on vacation! So am packing up all my books for the warm beach days.

But some of you read my rant I posted about Assigned Summer Reading. And I have procrastinated this so bad. But I am finally, finally getting started. Even though this is going to kill me in the process. My mentality is the sooner I get this done, the sooner I can read the books I actually want to read.

So I had to choose out of a huge list of books, and then read there of them and write notes.

Here are the three books I choose: (Mainly because my sister already bought these last year, and I'm too cheap to go buy books I don't want to read).

1. The Color of Water: A Black Man's Tribute to His White Mother

by: James McBride

So not going to lie, this one actually did spike my interest. And after reading a good twenty pages I'm not upset about it. I think it's going to be one of those books that are kind of eye opening. Which are always good to read.

2. 1984

By: George Orwell

I have tried to read this once on my own freshman year. And I couldn't get into this book to save my life! But people love this book, and I thought now is the chance to try again. It's just that factor about knowing I am forced to read this and it bothers me.

3. Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life

by: Anne Lamott

I have no idea what this is about at all. I found it at my house, and I found it on the list so. Goodreads did give it a really good rating! But I'm sure it was adult rating it and not teens so we shall see how this goes.

I am totally bumming about reading these. I was reading Interview with the Vampire and it is so good so far. But I have to take a break and read these before it gets to be too late.

Happy Reading!

I read 1984 for school too. I found it interesting but didn't enjoy the writting or characters. Fahrenheit 451 is way better.

I'm debating if I should get Fahrenheit 451. It sounds super good! If I find it used I might pick it up.
