I hate to bring more bad news, but a couple days ago Sahrotaar ed away unexpectedly.

I believe he ed away due to old age, I know he was well over 2 years (at least) and was very healthy otherwise. He had no signs of sickness at all (even his dead body looked oddly healthy) so I’m thinking it was simply old age that got him.

He was such a great betta. I loved his grumpy personality and gorgeous coloring. I already miss seeing him flare up whenever I look into his section of the 20 gallon.

Like Durnehviir, Sahrotaar was a rescue that I got last winter (2018) who had shared an undivided 20 gallon with two other bettas. The tank hadn’t been cleaned in over two years, and the previous owner was just going to kill them if no one else wanted them. He definitely had a rough life before I got him. I’m so proud to be able to say that I gave him a better life before his time came!

Rest easy Sahrotaar, I look forward to someday seeing your grumpy self again!
