Time for an update! Hopefully I can have you guys consult me on some of my worries, as well!
Last night my female was looking pretty rough, so I decided to put her back in the container. I wasn't comfortable leaving her with him over night, as a new breeder. I fed her then, just moments after the food was in she ate. Good sign, right?
This morning I woke up to see that my male had greatly expanded his bubble nest. He was flaring at her, and she flared back, all seemed well. I released her and he chased her around a lot, nipping her more. It caused her to be frightened again, but not showing horizontal bars. Then, seemingly out of the blue, she swam out. He started to dance for her and she did the same. I thought they would spawn, but they didn't. After a bit of this he chased her again, and this has been going back and fourth all day. It seems like every time I'm about ready to give up and remove the female, they start to dance in that "S" swishy way. She looks tattered up, but is still only showing breeding stripes, not fear ones, but when she is hiding she breathes heavily (hopefully because of being chased?). I am worried about her, the breeding and courtship process amazes me to watch them but also scares me. I know it can be aggressive... But do you think it is too much? When will it end and they finally spawn, or would I just take her out? I'm doing my best to be patient but I am a more nervous person. If you has bred bettas a few times or more or have any experience with breeding bettas and could help me out, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

tank temp is 80- 82? with a cover on top? with Indian Almond leaf?
I have many Indian almond leaves in there, and plastic wrap on the top to keep the humidity in, but the tank temp is only around 75-76 degrees.

Thank you so much, this was very helpful and I greatly appreciate it!
I feel like you should take a break. Put her in her own tank for a week or two and possibly try again. The female obviously is stressed even though shes not showing stripes. My females who were in a sorority didnt show stripes but they were definately stressed. Good luck.
Thank you!
