Dalian and Hugh are the main characters if "Dantalian no Shoka" and they can use all of the Phantom Books inside the Library.

History

Hugh Anthony Disward is the grandchild of "Wes", who was known to be a great bibliomaniac. He once traded half of his property for a Boom. After his death, Hugh inherited the Mansion, his books and everything else. In the 6 months until he got the lette

r informing him about his grandparents death, 6 months had ed. When he got into the Mansion, all the books had dissappeared. Following the trail of cleanliness on the dusty room, he found a secret age where he arrived at where Dalian was.After they went to get back the book that Wes' killer had taken, Dalian, approved him and appointed him as the Gatekeeper, who is a person that can open the gates of the Library and take out the books, seal them and many more.

Personality/Intelligence

Dalian is quite rude to almost anyone she meets, be it a police officer, a librarian or student. She is mostly verbally abusing Hugh throughout the series. Although she almost always has a grumpy attitude, her facial expressions reveal what she is thinking most of the time. She has shown to care deeply about Hugh and can keep her calm in dangerous situations. Despite her behaviour, she is a genius, that knows almost everything there is to know about old books.

Hugh is almost always calm and well-mannered as he has been throughout 90% of the show. His patience must be never ending since he can continue being with Dalian and accept er whims. He won't hesitate to fire off his gun to protect Dalian, or use any of the Phantom Books she has. He has been shown to be pretty Intelligent, although Dalian may be a little bit smarter than him.

Normal Human Speed. Doesn't really have any notable speed feats, except the fact that he was a soldier (a pilot to be exact) and had trained his body.
