Portrait of Earth Kingdom Zuko

This was a piece I drew a while ago for one of my roleplays. I’ve finally started coloring some more of my back log, and this was one of the first I decided to tackle.

This is based on the same character redesign as my earlier ‘Earth Kingdom Zuko’ post. The story being three years later is the reason why his hair got so long, and is being used to block so much of his face on the design.

With the ornamentation on the outfit, I decided to try and off set how busy the picture was getting by doing a very simple wood grain pattern for the background.

The line art took about an hour and forty five minutes. Coloring took about five hours. I decided during the filtering process to use additional saturation on the digital version to give it a little bit of a different look from some of my past pieces.
