Underrated Challenge Entry - Lisanna Strauss

Both underrated and underused Lisanna is not only my favourite Fairy Tail character but my entry for the underrated challenge

Description

Lisanna Strauss is a Fairy Tail wizard, childhood friend of Natsu and surrogate mother of Happy. Before Lucy's arrival Lisanna was the closest to Natsu, able to bring out the softer and more caring side of him. He is easily accepted by anyone due to her happy personality. She shares the same magic as her siblings 'Take Over'. This allows her to transform herself into human-animal hybrids. This changes her physical apperence and gives her different strengths depeneding on the animal. Popular transformations of hers are Animal Soul: Cat, bunny and bird.

Why I chose her

I chose Lisanna because of how big apart she played in Natsu's childhood whose's death was emotinal and, deeply affected her siblings and Natsu, but when she came back to EarthLand from Edolas it was like she never exsited. She was so overshadowed by Lucy, but to be honest everyone was overshadowed by her, the fandom sometimes forgot she was still alive. And when the fandom shes around, she gets shat upon for no reason other then some of us ship Natsu and Lisanna. She lacks much personal development, being only backstory for Mirajane and Elfman, and with other charcaters other then Natsu and Happy. Her powers, being the same as her siblings, could have developed into something other then just what we've seen. Mira and Elfmen can transform into powerfull demons and beast, so why can't she?

How she affected the series

Unfourtuanlly she doesn't affect the series in the latter part, other then stand with the other countless 2-D forgetable characters, but she does have a freat affect in the ealier part.

Natsu and Happy

When Natsu first arrived at Fairy Tail he conflicted with Gray and Erza, creating a rivalry with them. He acted like it was what he wanted but in fact he was sad and lonely about it. She found him sitting in the rain and asked him inside. This got them talking about Igneel and their love for Dragons. When Natsu found Happy's egg Lisanna helped to hatch him and then raise him too. They grew up together and after Natsu and Happy fell out over a fish Lisanna remined him "Natsu, be nice to Happy. After all Happy is like a son to us." Unbeknownst to him it would be the last time he would see her before his death.

After hearing the news of her 'death' Natsu was devestated. He built her a grave outside the hut where they hatched and raised Happy. He knew she liked to watch the sunsets. There he vowed to find her again, where ever she may be.

Mirajane and Elfman

Lisanna is the main reason for Mirajane and Elfman's ealier character development. On a mission to surpress the King of Monsters, The Beast, Elfman attempts to take control of the creature, however this is unsuccessfull and it begins to control him. Lisanna attemted to calm him down but instead was battered to an inch of her life. Mirajane attempted to save her but to bo avail. She then swapped places with Edolas Lisanna and was brought back to life.

The result of this was Mira lost most of her magic and under went a complete personality change. Elfman became unable to do a Full- Body Take Over.

After her return the siblings fought along side each other again with their full powers

Conclusion

The reasons why I chose Lisanna was because how deeply she affected the main protaganist, Natsu, as well as the others around her but she gets uncalled hate instead of the appreciation she deserves. One of Fairy Tail's greatest mistakes is overuse and underuse of it's characters. Unfortunately she falls into the background with the likes of Remus and Marco despite having all the makings of a great main character.
