Pain is coming to town

Note : This was my entry for a competition a couple of weeks ago on Anime Amino but now its ended I thought I could post it on here seeing as how it got featured on there, meaning someone liked it, I thought you lot might too.

Story

Pain is back and terrorizing the anime-verse. His rinnegan has grown more powerful allowing him to transport between realities (Anime-logic don't question it). After causing wide spread destruction a band of six heroes have come together to defeat the Six Paths, the God of Destruction, Pain! He has already travelled to many different universes leaving behind traces allowing our heroes to through the cracks and up at his base of operations.

Setting

Alamos Town

Set in the Pokemon Universe Alamos Town is situated in the Sinnoh region, known for it's deep connections with the space-time continuum, it sits uptop a mesa in the middle of a lake.

The centerpiece is the Space-Time Tower, where both energies meet. Pain hopes to use this as a way to not only travel in space but time as well. The locals can tell something is happening but are too afraid to do anything about it.

Heroes

Character No: 1

Shikamaru Nara- The Tactical Leader

Naruto wasn't avaliable so instead we have Shikamaru! Yay! But seriously Shikamaru is renowned for his leadership skills and plan making. He has witnessed the destruction Pain has caused and understands how the Black Recivers work. Using his brain he will be able to see through Pains attacks and calculate a course to victory

Character No: 2

Keneki Ken- The Ghoul

Definitely the odd one out here, being a bit of an anti-hero and all but Keneki is one hell of a fighter. Using his Rinkaku Kagune he will be able to create 4 tentacles, meaning he could take a Pain head on. If things get tough Keneki could bring out his Rinkaku Kakuja and turn into Centipede. He also possess superhuman speed alowing him to move citizen out of the way.

Character No: 3

Edward Elric -The Fullmetal Alchemist

Training under Izumi Curtis, Edward is an amazing combatant, he is able to do hand-to-hand combat, which has taken doen foes much larger then him. His automail gives him extra strength and speed. Thanks to The Gate Elric can transmutate without a Transmutation Circle , allowing him to trasmutate instantaneous. His foes don't know this, allowing him to catch people of guard. He will be able to erect walls to protect civilians and create his own weapons to fight

Character No: 4

Pokemon Trainer Red - The Silent Master

Red is probably the most world renowned Pokémon Master and has come to protect his own. Red has spent many years training and battling to become more powerful. Red himself is a master strategist able to anticipate his opponents' next move. He will be able to īShikamaru with a plan.

Pikachu- Pikachu's speed and powerful thunderbolt make him Red's stongest Pokémon and most determined, so will stay by his side.

Charizard- Having the ability of flight he can carry out aerial with Wendy, seeing if anyone is trapped and carry them to saftey. His flamethrower is a powerfull attack too.

Lapras- He will be able to carry people across the Lake but also fight with it's Ice Beam.

Blastoise- He could also transport people but use it's Hydro Pump attack.

Venusaur- It's vines are strong and study, making them useful to hold up a building or move rubble.

Snorlax- It's a walking tank basically. If it gets off and attack like Giga Impact, bye bye you poor soul

Character No: 5

Kirito- The Blackswordsman

The clearer of SAO is one of the best swordsman ever. Possessing the unique ability to, Duel Blades, Kirito can hold both his Dark Repulser and Elucidator at the same time. He has the fastest reactions and can see through enemy attacks. His speed his only rivaled by two others in his life.

Character No: 6

Wendy Marvell- The Dragon Healer

She may be smaller then Ed but this Sky Dragon Slayer packs a punch. Mostly known for her magic, Wendy can heal any injuries on both the civilians and the other heroes. She would also be able to improve the others abilities with her Enchantments. These can be their speed, attack, defense or anything. But if needs be she can enter Dragon Force mode, obtaining the power of a real dragon.

Enemy

Nagato/Pain

Being a desendent of the Uzumaki Clan, Nagato's chakra was naturally strong, with huge reserves with it too, being able to perform massivly taxing techniques. His use in Ninjustu is impressive, mastering all Jiraiya taught him as well as the basic nature techniques and Yang Release. Being an adept sensor he can sense the locations of others from a great distance making it so no-one could hide. However due to his fight with Hanzo his body was badly damaged, leaving it moslty defenceless.

His Rinnegan is by far his greatest ability, giving him the ability to access the Six Paths Technique.

Deva Path- Gravitation

Preta Path- Absorptive

Human Path- Soul Control

Asura Path- Mechanism

Naraka Path- King of Hell

Outer Path-Life and Death

Through the black receivers Nagato can control six bodies of the deceased giving each one a Path and saving the Outer Path for himself. Each one was formidable on their own but together they were regarded as invincible. Although they mostly fought with their jutsus all could do taijutsu, able to keep up with the most practiced of opponents.

The Fight

(Don't be expecting a well thoughtout narrative. I haven't written an Anime Crossover story before. Nor will this be long.)

Nagato lurks inside of Alamos Town's Space-Time Tower. As Palkia and Dialga fight in the Unown Dimension, both blaming each other for the disturbance in the Space-Time continum, Nagato uses this weakening of the worlds to fracture it, and by using his rinnegan he could travel anywhere in time as well as space. But what Nagato doesn't know is wheels are already in motion to fight against him.

Intergrated with the people in the town below the Pokémon Master Red, along with Dragon Slayer Wendy and Alchemist Edward, who had arrived earlier through the portals, had already set out an evacuation plan, which all the citizens had memoriesed when the time comes. Red had all his Pokémon on stand-by. Lapras and Blastoise were already escorting the children off the mesa, so when fighting insues they will be out of harms way. Charizard had done countless fly-overs with Wendy surveying the land. Venusuar had planted it's roots underneath the city, being able to sense any activity underground. Snorlax was kept by Red's side with Pikachu, ready for a fight. Using the scouts from the air team, Edward knew where the best places were to use his alchemy to his advantage. It had become a waiting game now...

Palkia and Dialga's battle has reached it's climax. Both legendary beings used their special attacks. Roar of Time and Spacial Rend. Both attacks colided, shattering the barrier between the normal world and the Unown Dimension ( Again I'am making this up ). A crack appered infront of him. This was Pain's chance to act. From what he knew about the Unown was that they were the building blocks of this Universe and if he could use them to aquire the power to timetravel.

He stepped forward and put his hand into the breach. The earth around the towers began to crack. The tears began to grow bigger and wider as the tore the town below. Both people and Pokémon screamed out in terror, running away from certain death. The three heroes nodded to each other and set of. Wendy and Charizard took to the sky. Edward rode on one of his earth columns. Red ran through the streets with Pikachu. All heading to the Towers.

Using his Rinnegan, Nagato sensed their postion. Behind him six figures emmerged then jumped out of the Towers. Aimed at the town below.

Flying through the air, Wendy and Charizard saw in the distance a orange haired figure levitating. Her eyes widened realising to man before them was what Shikamaru called the 'Deva Path' that could wipe out an entire village. Not wanted to risk it, she took a deep breath of the air around her, closed her eyes and focused. They re-opened a deep pink and her hair grew longer with the same colour. She extanded out her arms and air shot out of them.

"Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!"

Next to her Charizard enveloped himself in a blazing red fire. Both sped up then collided with the Deva Pain. The force of impact sent him flying to the ground. But before landing on impact Pain held out his hand and pulled it to, dragging down the two dragons with him. All three crashed down hard. With determination in there hearts both dragons forces them selves up and flew over to Deva. Charizard's claws lit up and extended. Wendy then put her right foot forward and like before air shot out of it.

"Sky Dragon's Claw!"

Before the Deva Pain could even stand up properly, the attacks hit him straight on, sending him through mutiple walls. Charizard and Wendy nodded to each other, deciding now was the time. The red lizard grabbed the beaten body of Deva Pain and flew into the air. Beneath the feet of the Sky Dragon, a magic circle appeared.

"Fast wind that run the heaven...VERNIER!" she cried out.

Charizards speed doubled as it rose higher and higher. As it reached the climax of its climb, it began to circle around and around then suddnely dropped.

"Ile Vernier!"

The speed of the Lizard again became faster until. BOOM! He collided into the ground, dust and smoke everywhere. Wendy then used her Sky Dragon Roar to clear it away. There layed Deva Pain's body lifeless once again with Charizard stood ontop, proud of his victory.

Caught unaware of his surrounding, a giant Drill-Beaked Bird descended into Edward's stone transport, knocking him into the ground. Not wasting time, the Alchemist threw off his cape, clapped his hands and ascended into the air again. He saw riding on it's back was the Animal Pain. The Pain saw the imcoming attack and commanded the creature to dive down. In a few movements of his hands, a puff of smoke appeared with a Giant Multi-Headed Dog roaring out of it, head straight for him. Fearing he had underestimated his adversary, Edward closed his eyes waiting for the end… I didn’t come. Through the air, ripped a flash of thunder, shocking the both the dog and bird. Surprised Edward looked for its source to see a tiny mouse sat on Red’s shoulder. Next to him was a Snorlax, amassing energy in it’s mouth. As both creatures fell, Snorlax released a Hyper Beam straight at them. It hit with a huge explosion. Red gave one of his rare smirks. But out of the crater that was left behind, both summons and the Animal Pain rose out. Bewildered, the two looked down to see Asura, barely scathed.

“Red!” Edward called out “You take the Animals I will deal with Asura!”

Red nodded as an acknowledgement. He pointed to the Pain itself, then both Pokemon launched their ranged attacks once more. They arrived only meters away from Pain before the Dog jumped up into the air and took the full front of the attack. Red gritted his teeth. He knew all his others were unavailable. Earlier he saw Charizard and Wendy fighting Deva, Venusaur was using it’s Frenzy Plant to hold the mesa from splitting and Lapras and Blastoise were still transporting people out of the city. In tight spots Red knew he had to get creative. Then he had an idea. He heard of a trainer whose Pokemon used an attack to projectile itself into the air. It was crazy but brilliant.

Before Edward stood Asura Pain, a man able to augment his body into mechanical weapons. Much like himself. Clapping his hands once more, he stoked the his right forearm, light flew out of it before it revealed a metal blade. Asura to used his right arm, but missiles launched from it, straight at Edward. He clapped once again, placing his hands on the ground, erecting a huge wall that instantly exploded from the missiles. Then multiple earth column shot out from the ground battering Asura multiple times. Edward then hopped on one of them to ride it closer to Pain. Asura, unfazed by the bombardment, opened up its head, revealing a cannon that began to charge. Edward jumped of his column and went in for the attack, swinging his blade towards Pain. It dodged and dodged and dodged again. Whenever Edward got close to landing an attack Pain dodged. It became frustrating to him. Worried Red might be facing similar difficult, between swings, he looked over to see something he never thought he would see in a million years.

Red was sat, with Pikachu, on Snorlax’s back as it used Hyper Beam to launch itself into the air. As the attack wore off mid-air a white light surrounded Snorlax, giving it incredible power. Giga impact, Edward believed it was called. The giant Pokémon crashed into the bird, ripping it apart. Then Pikachu began to charge up it’s electric sacks. However Pain was faster, with a few hand movements a Giant Rhino appeared above them crushing Red and his Pokémon. Fearing for their lives, Edward saw that Asura’s cannon was ready to fire and acted quickly. Instead of attack from the front, Edward attacked from the back. He clapped his hand for what he hoped would be the final time. After moment nothing happened. Asura believed he had won until he got hit in the back, with a huge block of earth, pushing him forward. Edward then used his blade to separate Asura’s head from his body. He then kicked it up high into the air causing the cannon to shoot upwards. The beam hit Animal Pain, vaporizing him in the process. The Rhino crushing Red and his Pokémon disappeared. Seeing what happened Red pointed to the rest of Asura’s body on the ground. Pikachu then used the electricity it had stored up to hit the headless figure, frying it. Snorlax’s weight caused it to land first, Red then Pikachu then landed on it’s belly, bounced into the air then landed safely on the ground.

“Awww looks like I missed it” a black figure said behind them.

Recognising the voice Edward turned around, pointed to the figure and yelled “Where the hell have you been, Kirito?!”

Holding his hand guiltily in the air The Black Swordsman spoke “ Sorry I had to finish my dungeon raid first.”

“What's one of them?” Edward questioned confusingly.

“I will explain later” Kirito replied before drawing his two swords. Elucidator and Dark Repulser. “Now are there any left?”

Red pointed to the Town’s square where his Venusaur was placed.

Kirito nodded before leaping off in hot pursuit.    

In the center of the town the Plant Dinosaur struggled to keep the town from splitting. The whole operation heavily relied on him keeping the Town from breaking so he had to stay concentrated, meaning he couldn’t risk fighting. But in the distance he could see Pain advancing. Hoping someone would come soon Venusaur stood his ground. Pain stopped and put its hand into the ground and grabbed hold of something. Venusaur took no notice of it until he realised his power was being drained. Then he realised it was the Human Path Pain. Regretfully, he let some of it’s plants go, causing the earth to split, and directed them to Pain. In response, Pain let go of the vine it was holding then grabbed the other two and and begun draining the energy out of them. Venusaur weaken with this. It began to let more of it’s Frenzy Plant go, to attack Pain but he had lost too much strength.

“Saur!!!” It cried out…

“Starburst Stream!” Kirito shouted as the swords impaled Pain. Pain let go of the vines, allowing Venusaur to use Frenzy Plant again to hold the mesa together. Kirito then pulled out his swords, ready for the rest to continue the rest of the 16-hit combo. Pain had different ideas. As Kirito’s sword came down, Pain used its receiver to parry the attack, leaving Kirito wide open. Then used its taijutsu to punch Kirito in the stomach. Then the head. Followed by his legs. Kirito kneeled on the ground in agony. He looked over past Pain to see Venusaur determined to keep the town together. He decided he couldn’t give up either. Pain’s black receiver attack came from above. Kirito used his swords to create an ‘X’ shape, catching it where they crossed. Like a vice he brought to two together snapping off the black rod. With the weakened connection between Nagato and it, Pain attempted to flee the battle. Just as it was about to leap out, vines caught it’s legs, holding Pain to the ground. Near the top of it’s plant light energy was gathering.

“Starburst Stream” Kirito once again exclaimed.

The swords and rods clashed once again. This time, with the vines around him, Pain was slower, allowing Kirito to land more attacks, chipping of the receivers bit by bit. Seeing that Venusaur’s Solar Beam was almost ready, Kirito used his swords to pin the edge of Pain’s clothes to the ground, incapacitating it.

“Venusaur!” the Pokémon roared as a beam of sunlight shot out of the plant. As it impacted on Pain a huge explosion occurred. Human Path Pain was gone again.

“Glad thats over!” Kirito sighed as he ed out on the ground. He turned his head to Venusaur, smiling, happy that he helped save him. But he didn’t share the same expression. He looked worried, scared even. Then he noticed a shadow next to his own. It was a large build.

“Preta!”Shouted Kirito. As he was about to reach for his swords, a foot stamped on his chest, preventing him from moving. The other foot began kicking him in the side. Venusaur began to charge up another Solar Beam, but it wouldn’t be ready in time. If this was SAO, Kirito’s health bar would be in the red zone. Suddenly a new shadow appeared, it moved by itself, then attached itself onto Kirito’s shadow. His body moved by itself, pulling him away from Preta.

“Good luck Shikamaru!” Kirito yelled in encouragement.

“I was planning on staying out of conflict, to come up of a way to defeat you, Nagato” The shinobi directed to Pain. “This is such a drag”

He took a quick look to see if Kirito was safe before addressing Preta again “ My Shadow Techniques will be useless again you” He pulled out a kunai out of his pocket “So I guess it’s going to be old school.” With his other hand he threw five shurikens at Pain then ran towards him. Pain held out his hands, creating a barrier, to absorb the stars.Shikamaru followed by hitting Pain’s barrier, to no avail.

“Truth be told, I know nothing I can do will harm you. I have no senjutsu chakra to use again you. I just wanted to do that. The real reason was to distract you” Shikamaru then pointed up to a white haired man, with four red tails “From that”

Keneki’s kagune hit Pain head on. Because kagune were not ninjutsu Pain’s barrier had no effect. Before Pain could move, three of the tails had hold of him. One around his waist, two around the arms. The fourth impaled Pain through the chest. The body dropped. Shikamaru went over to help Kirito up.

“Do you know if anymore are left?” he asked.

“I know Animal and Asura were defeated by Elric and Red. I think Wendy and Charizard dealt with Deva. As you can see two are done here” Kirito informed him.

“So where is Naraka?” The ghoul questioned.

On the outskirts Lapras and Blastoise, struggling to transport everyone out, used their combined power to create a huge ice path, stretching across the lake. This allowed anyone who could, to slide across. They had just reached the other side of the lake and were about to turn back when...

“Run!” The warning filled the air and screams of panic began.

Both water Pokemon, with panic expressions, swam back as fast as they could. When they were in sight of the mesa they saw a giant head with two hands sticking out of it, grabbing ahold of two tongues. It was the King of Hell. Blastoise directed its two cannons toward it and fired off two balls of pressurised water. It did not hit the head but instead the two victims. The force of the blast knocked them out of the head’s grips. Lapras followed with a Psychic attack on Pain, causing him to loose his balance. Blastoise then jumped out of the water and, then concentrated his energy to his hands, using the attack Focus Blast at point blank range. The ball of energy ripped Pain to shreds. What was left of Pain was then frozen with a t Blizzard attack. Checking everyone was ok they again continued to ferry across the remaining citizens.

Up high in the Tower, the crack that hand been created had grew into a large rift in the sky. Nagato was close to obtaining the power of time travel but he knew he had to hurry. He could sense Pain had been defeated by the people who had followed him. Believing he had time, he poured all his chakra into the rift, hoping the Unown will come out. Overestimating his chances, he didn’t sense the six figures behind him. Shikamaru, Keneki, Edward, Red, Kirito and Wendy, battered, bruised and bloody from their fights.

“Nagato” Spoke Shikamaru “I’am taking you back to Konoha to stand trial for your crimes”

“Can’t we just kill him” Keneki proposed, cracking his finger.

“NO!” Wendy piped up. Keneki’s face turned disgruntled.

Nagato looked up and smiled as the rift opened more and Unown began to flood out.

“We have to stop him before he gains more power!” Edward shouted in the barrage of alphabets flying about.

Keneki was the first to move. Attaching himself to the walls he went around the room using his Kagune to bat away and Unown. Edward erected a metal wall which he Shikamaru, Red with Pikachu hid behind. Kirito and Wendy went on the offensive. Wendy, still in Dragon Force, picked up Kirito, and flew through the Pokestorm as Kirito used his dual blades to parry any incoming attacks. The three hurtled towards Nagato, ready for the strike. Blades and tails were about to land before the Unown covered Nagato and protected him, as Pokeshields. Commanded by Nagato they used Hidden Power and blasted the three away. Behind the metal wall, Red saw this mistreatment of Pokemon, and left the safety of the wall, with Pikachu. Racing towards Nagato.

“Shikamaru can you use your techniques to trap Nagato?” Edward questioned

“Yes but I need a clear path to do it. It won’t work with all these creatures flying around.” Shikamaru responded.

“We will sort that out” Edward told him. Popping his head above the barrier he shouted “Guys we need to create a path for Shikamaru’s shadows!”

Red, hearing the plan stopped in his tracks. He commanded Pikachu to use his Thunder inside the Towers. Pikachu did so.

“PIKACHU!!!” The mouse screamed. Yellow electricity came off the Pokemon. All the Unown were hit in a chain reaction causing them to faint from the intensity. The light was so bright it blinded Nagato temporarily.

“NOW!” a voice shouted. Hearing the command the six heroes formed a straight line form Shikamaru’s position to Nagato.

When the light ceased, Nagato opened his eyes with Red in his face. He whet to hit him but couldn’t move.   

“Shadow Imitation Technique: Complete” Shikamaru muttered between breaths. A shadow reached from Shikamaru connecting all the other’s together like a chain eventually ending at Nagato’s. Defeated and exhausted the rift began to close. The fainted Unown regained consciousness and retreated back into their dimension where Palkia and Dialga still fought, unaware of the events down below.

The aftermath of the battle was devastating. Alamos town was almost in ruins. The heroes did what they could but the portals began to close so they were forced to leave, leaving Red by himself still in his own world. Shikamaru and Nagato returned to Konoha, where Nagato was dealt with by the Kage. Keneki went back to a world he was feared in. Winry was happy to see Edward return back safely, but mad at him for what he did to her automail. For Kirito it was like nothing happened, he just loaded up Alfheim Online and reed his party. Natsu didn’t believe Wendy had been to another world where seven bodies were the same person and alphabets could fly. All knew that they had helped the multiverse but hoped they never had to do it again. However if the universe was in trouble again it knew who to call...
