Stay With Me, My Blood
Disclaimer: sensitive imagery.
This feeling;
It’s sharp.
Piercing my veins
The more I pull, the more it takes.
Either I wrench it out
And hit the brakes
or
It becomes a part of me
Till my blood runs dry.
Sometimes, it becomes numbed
Yet at the slightest reminder,
It throbs.
They say,
“Don’t look at it too much! It’ll go away.”
But
To my dismay,
I don’t even have to gaze.
...
Trust fall
20 steps backward; broke my spine
Quickly lost what was not mine
I took off my armor,
Laid down the shield
Stripped myself bare on the battlefield.
I thought
Arrows from you would not yield.
Yet the very one that took me apart
The fatal blade which struck my heart
Was my own.
No battle in the first place
I was the hare,
And there was no race.
When all was at a steady pace,
A suicide mission
Blurring my vision
Destroyed what we took pains to build;
My peace of mind and your iron will
Leaving no trace.
But the phoenix burns only to live again
I’ve been hoping for rebirth ever since then.
