Group Writing

Group writing can come in the form of poetry, short stories or lyrics. For this activity, of the club will come together to brainstorm and come up with a piece of writing. This can be done via text or on VC.

Poetry Challenge

Every week, everyone will be given a common prompt to write a poem about. At the end of the week, we'll have a VC where everyone can read out their poems. Collectively, we'll judge/score each member's poem and give some constructive critisism.

Stranger Talks

A talking session on VC will be held occasionally where we can talk about our lives and get to know one another better!

Story Mode

Players form a list and take turns to say a random word, stringing it into a story. Punctuations can count as words. The mini story is then titled as a team after the session.

Vocab Building

In order to expand our vocabulary, one member looks up random words on a generator, where the meaning of the word is hidden. All players draw whatever first comes to mind about the word, and discuss its implications. Then, the big reveal.

Poetry read.

Every week, one member shares a piece of writing that stood out to them (this includes a summary of the piece, your interpretations and some analysis). This can be a piece that you've come across in our amino or from an external source.

Song Association.

We can pick a day where the majority of us are active to play the game.

Lyrical Breakdown.

A screening room will commence and a member will be chosen to pick a song. The song will be played in the screening room. After we listen to the entirety of the song, we will have a discussion and dissection of the song to find the hidden messages within the lyrics. will be allowed to comment on their favorite lines and phrases as well.

Discussion Prompt.

Here, a prompt will be shared amongst the group. It will most likely be an inquiring or analytical question that we as a group will speak upon. This will allow us a stronger bond as of I.H.O.P, and as friends.

I.H.O.P Showcases/Public Events.

Every month, we’ll have a showcase (either by text or photos) of poems/songs created in the club from the challenge or games that you participate in. We love showing how talented our are. Public events will be offered from time to time for everywhere to participate in. You can get prizes for winning “best piece” and can be featured in the showcase as well as being a guaranteed candidate for Pen-Master of the Month in the S.C.A !
