Among the colours, two stood out:

Pure, pristine white, and bleakest black,

One called the light, and the other,

Painted as the shade of evil,

You can't paint me white after all

That I've done: from the berating

Of the young minds, our future; and

Going far as to cripple them,

You can't paint me black after all

That I've done: I served under the

Flickering light, and I stood strong

Even so, after all these years,

Among the palette's colours, two

Of them were the lords, the judges,

First, the white, the unblemished half,

Second, black, the ostracized one,

You can't paint me white, for even

I had embraced the majesty

Of the corrupted power brought

Forth by the forbidden knowledge,

You can't paint me black, for even

I had the heart to look after

Those that were the same as I- the

Ones that were all misunderstood,

You can't paint me white for all the

Evil deeds that I've done, likewise,

You can't paint me black for all the

Feats of goodness- my sacrifice,

Many thought of me as pure white,

Many also think I'm pure black,

But, however, notwithstanding,

I just cannot be white nor black,

Instead, why not paint me as grey?

Neither belonging to one side,

For I'm neither Saint nor Devil;

My alignment is just misplaced,

And so, why not paint me as grey?

Neither belonging to one side,

It can't be judged as good or bad;

Perfect shade for neutrality.
