As we all well know, pronouns are very
important and we as a community respect
everyone’s pronouns which is why we allow
member’s to have a pronoun title of their
choice !
There are also other means of letting others
know what pronouns you wish for them to
use and a very practical website for this is
the pronoun website ! offered in more than
one language and includes other features.

We noticed something about the pronoun
link that we weren’t aware of up until now.
It can show your specific age and as as our
internet safety guidelines explicitly says,
sharing this information on this community
is against the [Guidelines] we carry.
But it’s not technically on the community, so
does that mean we can moderate it? It’s a
direct link to outward, external media that
displays very personal information. That isn’t
a loop hole. If a link displays a photo, we would
take it down, so we would do the same for
specific ages.
All personal information must and will be
protected from links shared publicly within
this community whether it is on this
community directly or indirectly because
regardless, it is being shared around on this
community.
And so, to summarise, due to this link being
able to show personal information, we will
be moderating it from now on !
Why is it so important that we have age
ranges and moderate age reveals ?
To be straightforward, it’s for the protection
of minors. Without going into too much detail
to avoid triggering topics, predatory behaviour
tends to have a “type”, so making member’s
personal information shared around in
public is important. We advice not to hand
out privately personal information but we
do not moderate that, so we focus on
public. Revealing one’s age is a step and
sometimes it can lead to another which is
something we want to avoid. On a side
note, Team amino doesn’t moderate against
a lot of predatory behavior so it’s something
we take very seriously and why we implement
these Internet safety guidelines.
Even though we moderate this specifically
for minors, it’s best to moderate everyone,
even adults, the same way as a fairness rule.
What can you expect to happen though?
From this point on out, we ask you guys to
PLEASE keep an eye out for the profiles that
display this link and if it shows that specific
information we’re trying to prevent (both
yourself and others) because we are going to
start moderating it as of right now. It’s our job
to inform of how to do so, because
displaying that age is purely optional but we
understand if you don’t know how to do it.
That’s why we are going to help if you have
complications, and show you how to do it in
a visual (see sections below).
When reporting an age reveal via this link,
please ensure that you PM a member of the
moderation team instead of going to the
Help Desk so that we can from there deal
with the situation. This is to prevent any
call out situations and potentially making a
member feel uncomfortable here!
We don’t want to ban the pronoun link
because it is super important and super
needed, but we are also not prepared to risk
the safety of minors especially during pride
month. So this is the compromise.

Now, you’ll have to create an with
an email but this email never gets exposed
to the public eye unless you purposely
place it in there yourself. So, it is safe if you
wish to use your own person email but I
would advice you to create a hwsa / amino
email and then use that!
What next?
From there you may edit your pronoun page
accordingly. BUT if you wish to link your
personal pronoun page here at HWSA, you
must be aware of a minor detail!
When editing your pronoun page, you may
come across something that looks like this:
PLEASE DO NOT FILL THIS OUT !
If you are to link your pronoun page in your
bio or somewhere else in like a wiki, ‘who
am I’ blog etc… then you must not fill this
out ! If you do fill this out with your birthday
date, then your age will be revealed.
This is all that you need to be aware of when
it comes to revealing one’s age on this
website.
