golden / by this fading twilight sun

haven't you noticed / that flaws and imperfections

go hand in hand / with demons late at night?

we wait for blemishes / to heal but the tide

rushes in and / here they grow, grow, grow

the world holds our pieces / sidewalk cracks inevitable

roads clasping memories / that all hearts crave to hold

so the unwise are chased / across this speckled sky

by stars and their company / feels like coming home

and now this sensation / wrings out crumpled souls

still you sift through ruffled sheets / for lost time

just as each blossom / kissed by the dimming light

cares without duly trying / peculiar in her ways

flowers grow back / even after they are stepped on

so will you / in bright nuances of piano crescendos

driving with music blasting / windows rolled down

fingers brushing a cheek / a hand fitting in your own

gentle but urgent / pinky promises of reassurance

the timeless beauty of letting go / you'll be okay
