Hi guys! This is a legacy challenge I have thought up surrounding the mermaids in Island Living. The purpose of this challenge is to help you explore all the different story options that mermaids offer, through a five generation legacy.
🧜♀Create Your Founder🧜♀
:star: Founders can be Male or Female (but for the interest of writing this my founder is female and is straight
:star: Founders can be any sexuality you want and can have adopted children as heirs (if adopted children are not mermaids you will need to turn them)
:star: Founders MUST be a human
:star: Founders MUST be a young adult
:star: Founders MUST be a child of the ocean but their other traits are up to you
:star: Founders MUST live on Sulani
:star: CC is allowed but I would encourage you to use the items from the pack for a more authentic island feel
🧜♀Other Rules🧜♀
:star: You may cheat to buy a house but no cheating after that (apart from to resolve glitches)
:star: You can build a house,use a pre-maid one or get one off the gallery
:star: You can use townies or your own sims for romantic relationships but they have to comply with that generation’s rules for love interests.
:star: Your heir can be male or female but they MUST be a mermaid
And most importantly.....
:star: HAVE FUN!!!!!
🧜♀Gen 1🧜♀
You have always loved the water and work hard to protect it and the wild life. You work hard as a conservationist for your whole life, as well as hiding a secret that changes everything...
:star: Complete the conservationist career
:star: While exploring the cave find mermadic kelp and eat it unknowing it will turn you into a mermaid
:star: Meet an evil mermaid/merman and fall in love (love interest traits: Evil, mean and one of your choice)
:star: Have 3 children
:star: Have your love interest cheat on you with out you knowing
:star: Have your love interest lure unsuspecting sims into the water and drown them
:star: Have one of your children find out about it’s parent’s cheating and murdering (this child becomes the heir)
:star: Get married to love interest and never find out about anything evil

🧜♀Gen 2🧜♀
(This gen starts when the heir from gen 1 becomes a teen)
You were born into what seemed like a loving family and you had two siblings. Growing up you were told that you were special and that you were a mermaid. As a teen you snuck out one night and saw something that made you lose all trust in a family life. This made you desperate to have a big family.
:star: Aspiration: Big happy family. Traits: family oriented,good and one of your choice
:star: As a teen discover one of your father is drowning sims and cheating
:star: End up with a really good relationship with your mother but a terrible one with your father
:star: Never reveal to your mother what is going on as you are being ‘threatened’ by your father
:star: Fall in love as a teen
:star: Become soul mates with your lover
:star: Get married
:star: Have five children
:star: Be good friends with all of your children
:star: (only apply this if cats and dogs is installed) adopt a stray
:star: Die a few days after one of your children is killed by fisher men saving their sibling (the child who is saved becomes the heir)
🧜♀Gen 3🧜♀
(This gen starts when the heir is saved from drowning)
After the trauma of one of you siblings dying saving you you are both mentally and physically scarred. You vow to spend your life protecting you and your family what ever the cost....
:star: If you have get famous apply some of the scars in CAS
:star: Fall in love with a human life guard
:star: Get married
:star: Have 2 kids (preferably twins)
:star: Don’t let your children go swimming or leave the home lot by them selves
:star: (parenthood only) stop everything to reprimand even the slightest bad thing
:star: Let your children have only one friend; their sibling (the heir will have more than this but their protective parent doesn’t know this. Basically these children aren’t on the parent’s relationship page )
:star: Die happily of old age sure that you have kept your children safe
:star: child traits: Non heir- loner, creative, genius. Heir- (get together version) Outgoing, insider and child of the ocean. (Base game version) Outgoing, Child if the ocean and one of you choice
🧜♀Gen 4🧜♀
(If you don’t have Get Together don’t follow rules with this icon beside them - :busts_in_silhouette: )
You had such a protective mother and you often wondered why she was like that. While your twin was busy following the rule and never meeting anyone new you would sneak out to meet new people and make friends.
:star: Make 10 friends
:star: :busts_in_silhouette: Start a club that only contains mermaids
:star: :busts_in_silhouette: Marry member of that club
:star: Marry one of you friends that is a MERMAID (disregard if you can follow the rule above)
:star: :busts_in_silhouette: Within that club do activities like diving and swimming
:star: Befriend a normal dolphin
:star: Become soulmates of an Azure dolphin
:star: Have 1 child
:star: Have a club gathering every week
:star: When the child is a toddler have a play date once a season (don’t use this rule if you don’t have toddler stuff. If you don’t have seasons the just have them regularly
🧜♀Gen 5🧜♀
You grew up with lots of friends and are extremely grateful for the life you have. It is now time look back on past generations and prepare the future ones.
:star: Visit every dead relative’s grave regularly (including brothers and sisters of heirs)
:star: Get married
:star: Get the mentor reward trait
:star: Teach your children everything you can
:star: Have three children
:star: Swim regularly
:star: Look after Sulani (clean up the island)
:star: Die from old age

Thank you for reading my challenge. I may in future add more generations after I have played with mermaids more. I am going to post episodes of this challenge on here so look out for that. You will of course need Island Living to play this but every generation is base game compatible (you just need to disregard any rule that use packs you don’t have). Thanks for reading!
