Heyy! Actually, our thoughts do not create our reality at all.
We can think about anything we want all day and not much is going to manifest from those thoughts alone. Think about it, LOL. How many times have we thought about a particular thing yet it hasn't shown up?
Plus, we have like a gazillion thoughts a day so trying to monitor them all would be impossible. Can you imagine?!
A LOT of LOA gurus say thoughts create your reality but what they reeeeeallly mean is that your thoughts play an important role in how reality is created.
Your vibration is what creates your reality and your vibration is made up of your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
Thoughts do not create reality but they do, however, create your feelings which is super super important because we often make decisions based on how we FEEL and not on what we think.
If you think too many negative thoughts then you will feel terrible and lack motivation. Likewise, if you think uplifting thoughts that bring you joy then your decisions are going to match that.
Additionally, a thought that is repeated over and over again eventually becomes a belief. Your beliefs determine what you attract.
So because thoughts create feelings and together a thought and a feeling when repeated creates beliefs, it is a great idea to pay attention to what you're consistently thinking about. So yes, thought is an important factor but it doesn't create by itself alone.
Also, a feeling by itself will not bring anything into your life unless a strong belief is attached to it.
(This is why I tell people not to worry too much about feeling sad or not being happy because you can feel sad or unhappy today and feel a lot better tomorrow or a week from now or vice versa and the Universe won't blink an eye. There's a trick to that and I'll get to it in just a second. :wink: )
Your feelings create your vibration or e(motions) = energy in motion.
Your beliefs determine what you attract at any given moment.
Here is where things get powerful and the Law of Attraction sweeps in and starts working.
A feeling + a strong belief associated with it creates your reality.
Now, before I continue let's jump back to the being sad thing. Let's say Mark is sad and is often sad because he suffers from depression. Mark thinks he is doomed maybe and LOA will never work for him because he has been told he must be happy all the time and think positive thoughts.
False.
Why?
Because thoughts alone do not determine what you attract. Your beliefs do.
Let's say Mark is wanting to make the football team this year at school or literally anything, you can choose whatever it is you want Mark to wish for, okay?
As long as he BELIEVES he can make the team (or do the thing you chose for him to do) because he has skills and etc, his sadness will in no way interfere with that manifestation.
Now. Let's say Mark wants to achieve a goal but his belief is, man, I really don't think I'll be able to do this because I'm not good enough and there are a lot of better players than me, and . . . etc, then he is therefore sabotaging himself. He is associating a low vibe feeling (doubt) with a strong belief that he won't be able to do this thing. Now he has created a vibration of attraction.
The thing he wants is to make the team which vibes on the scale of Joy but he believes he won't be able to which vibes on the scale of doubt and fear.
He is no longer a vibrational match for what he wants; he's a vibrational match for what he fears, doubts, and believes.
For anyone wondering what will happen because they feel sad or have sad thoughts a lot the way I do, here is a helpful tip.
There is a BIG vibrational difference between. "UGH. I feel sad today . . . " and "OMG! I hate my life! I feel terrible and depressed all the freaking time. Everything sucks, I'm never going to get better."
The second one is a affirmation that combines feelings with strong beliefs and that's going to vibe and attract more terrible feeling days hardcore whereas the first phrase is just a feeling by itself and doesn't have an attraction point.
You can make the first phrase better by adding a positive affirmation to the end and turning it into a belief that says, "Today I feel sad but I know things won't always be this way. This feeling lasts less and less each time . . . "
Now it has become a belief that will manifest you being a lot less sad each time :blush:

So if I want to manifest a dog for example, thinking about it wont make it happen but if I feel the love now and belief I can have it, it will happen. And if I feel the love and not belief it wont happen. So Thoughts which create my emotions. My emotions+ my belief= manifestation
