Have you read a book; an absolutely amazing book... but there’s something missing—something you can’t quite put your finger on. And you know that that book would be a 100 times better if it had that missing something. Alas, if only you could do something about that.

That’s what today’s challenge is all about:
Make a photo collage of all the things you’d like to see more of in books and media in general; whether it be tropes or certain plot points or character traits.
For example: I love it when books have detailed and developed, best friend characters in book. Reading the friendship dynamic between the MC and another character brings me so much joy.
Unfortunately, healthy, wholesome friendships aren’t that common in novels. This is something I’ve noticed in contemporary novels, especially YA. The main character usually has very few friends and they are often pushed to the back burner as the plot thickens. And if it’s a romance novel, as soon as the love interest is introduced, the protagonist usually forgets about all his/her friends and obsesses around their love.

In my collage I’ve included some books that cover the friendship dynamic quite well. The friendship between Anne and Diana in Anne ic Green Gables by LM Montgomery is to die for. It’s cute, ive and I absolutely loved seeing these two grow up together to become quite different, but lovely all the same. Another book that does this well is Futhermore by Tehereh Mafi. In this novel the friendship between Alice and Oliver is at the forefront of the novel and the driving force of the story. Both these characters are so different and it was awesome to read about their friendship blossoming during their quest.
