This is Nomad! I hope you all are doing great today! To make your day even better, I'd like to enlighten you with a new Chapter of Redemption: A Splat Force Story!
We've now entered the final three Chapters already, how?! It doesn't feel that long ago since I started this story, granted I started a week earlier than usual, but still!
This Chapter will be the shortest Chapter of the story, maybe even the shortest Chapter in all of Splat Force thus far, though expect to see some fun interactions with the characters alongside a sweat fight scene!
So without further ado, let's get into this!
:warning: WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CHAPTER CONTAINS STRONG VIOLENCE, STRONG LANGUAGE, AND GRAPHIC IMAGERY. PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION! :warning:

C H A P T E R 8 : R U N O N
It was now midday and the Submarine had finally arrived. Shauna, Carson, and Sargent Gunn entered it from the top, with Bruce having to go through the large back door to get in. Led was procrastinating going into it. As established, he hated water more than any of the others. His face was pale and his body shivered with Melissa having to hold him up so he could walk.
"I never knew you hated water, Led."
Jay commented, looking back at him with concern.
"I-I'm not scared...GO IN!"
Led yelled in response. Jay smirked at Led and widened her eyes before climbing into the submarine.
Mr. Fisk rolled his eyes at both Led and Melissa due to them, specifically Led, wasting time.
"Volteer, if you don't go into the damn submarine then I'll just leave you two here and you won't be getting reduced sentence when the R.A.I.C pick you up! Am I clear?!"
He asked him. Accepting his fate, Led slowly nodded and sighed. Mr. Fisk grabbed onto his left hand and began to drag him towards the submarine, making him panic more. Melissa followed them from behind.
"Good! Let's go!"

Though it looked like a long, metal nose on the outside, the inside was lively. On the right side of the submarine was a small living room with small, circle windows to look out from, a small pool table, a few red sofas, and a bookshelf filled with DVDs next to a small, square television.
The left side, separated from the right via a corridor had only one room, a singular bathroom, that was currently occupied by Carson having another Chronic Diarrhoea attack. The back of the submarine was a glass door to a secure room, for if anyone needed to come in from the water. The front room was the driver's dock.
Led was sitting on a sofa, throwing up into a sick bag, Melissa sat to his right, patting his back. Shauna sat opposite Bruce in the right corner, both of which were looking out of the windows whilst Shauna switched out the batteries on her gadgets. Mr. Fisk and Sargent Gunn played pool, with the latter of which being very skilled in the game, but just falling short of Mr. Fisk's intelligence. Lastly, Jay was reading a book on the shelf.
After a couple of minutes, Led had finished his fifth, and thankfully last sick bag.
"Okay, I think that's it now."
"Good!"
Sargent Gunn said before taking the bag off him and putting it into the bin.
"Hopefully the seasickness shouldn't last a moment longer!"
"Yeah, I agree."
Led muttered. He looked to Melissa, who still rubbed his back. The two smiled at each other.
Seeing the pair of them lovingly stare at each other encouraged Mr. Fisk to finally speak up.
"So, are you two a thing now?"
"Yeah, I guess we are."
Melissa answered. The question was enough to take their eyes off each other for a small moment.
"I knew it! I knew I heard something last night!"
Jay said, jumping onto her feet and rushing to them. Led shook his head as he knew what Jay would do next.
"Believe me, I heard what I heard and you can't deny it!"
"Jay, don't even think about it!"
Led exclaimed, only for her smirk to grow larger.
"JAY!"
"Oh! Oh Led! Oh Led, Oh! Harder, harder!"
She moaned mockingly, making Melissa blush as he recounted what he heard last night.
"Mel! Mel! Oh, fuck! Here I come! Here I-"
Z A P ! ! !
Using the lightest charge possible, he zapped a small bolt of lightning at Jay's foot. To her, it felt like an intense static shock. Regardless, it made her jump!"
"Ow! Hey, I was joking!"
"I warned you!"
Led whispered. His repulsiveness made most people chuckle, including Melissa. The laughter quickly faded as all of a sudden...
B A N G , B A N G ! ! !
B E E P , B E E P , B E E P ! ! !
A loud couple of bangs was heard from within the submarine. All eyes were on Led, who shrugged in confusion. Once it dawned on them that Led hadn't caused it, Mr. Fisk rushed to the driver's dock.
"Someone call the General!"
He ordered. A button next to the speaker was pressed by one of the co-drivers.
"General, come in!"
"I can't hold communication for long, Mr. Fisk, but it looks as if the submarine is being attacked from the outside. Running scans right now as we speak."
General Swannack informed, pausing for a moment for the scan results to come back.
"Okay, the objects attacking don't seem to be large. It ain't a Shark attack. Regardless, you need to exterminate it as quickly as possible!"
"Copy that!"
Mr. Fisk replied before leaving the driver's dock. He walked down the hallway, squinting his eyes as he endured the scent coming from the bathroom to his right.
"Jacob, Hammerhead, let's go!"
Sargent Gunn rushed out of the room to his friend, whereas Bruce took his time standing up but was quick to walk over. The three of them entered the secure, square, white-tilled room through the automatic glass door. They faced the second glass door ahead of them that led out into the water. The two Inkling's nanotech suits covered their bodies from the water as the second glass door opened. They went out to see five hostile Acid Squids trying to take apart the submarine.
Bruce swam quickly at the three on the right, grabbing them and ripping them in half whilst roaring. The three half-bodies left behind a large, thick trail of blood with their intestines flowing out of them like a worm. Without hesitation, Bruce gobbled them up with ease, his teeth now stained with their blood. Pieces of flesh were stuck between his teeth.
S L A M ! ! !
Sargent Gunn tried to punch at the Acid Squid, but the punch only did light damage when compared to the punch he received in return from the Acid Squid. Trying to catch back up to the Acid Squid, he breast stroked forward and got out his gun, placing it against the Acid Squid's chest.
B A N G ! ! !
Due to it being pressed against his chest, the bullet went straight into the Acid Squid's heart, killing him. The bullet hole left a small blood trail in the water. Sargent Gunn spun around the Acid Squid and pushed him away from the submarine. He then turned to Mr. Fisk to see if he needed help but was surprised to see that he was handling things on his own.
S L A M , S L A M , S L AM ! ! !
Mr. Fisk landed two fast punches to the Acid Squid's mouth and then slammed his head onto the side of the submarine, knocking him almost unconscious. To finish the job, he dragged the Acid Squid towards one of the turbines and shoved him in it slowly, creating a mist of blood and slicing up body parts, staining his helmet with blood. Sargent Gunn cringed at Mr. Fisk's dirty work, finding it brutal even for him. Regardless, the job was now done and the team was safe.
The three of them entered the submarine once again. As the glass door shut, the water in the room was drained out, allowing the Inkling's to get out of their nanotech suits.
"How did you do so well out there, Vince? I struggled a lot!"
"I have small nanobots that are built into me, they help enhance my performance. I see it as an adrenaline boost. It helps improve my senses, and my reaction time and makes me more capable of fighting. Take them out of me and I'm just an Inkling, well a very smart one at that."
He explained to his friend.
"It's how I've been able to keep up with you all."
"Oh, so like performance-enhancing drugs?"
Sargent Gunn asked to get some sort of comparison.
Mr. Fisk raised an eyebrow at him.
"Are you calling me a drug addict?!"
"No, no, no! Sorry, I didn't mean that!"
He quickly apologized, making his friend chuckle.
"I'm joking! You obviously weren't!"
He said, putting his friend at ease. At last, the inner glass door opened the two Inklings and Bruce walked through the corridor.
Whilst walking, Sargent Gunn noticed a small scabbard at the back of Mr. Fisk's belt.
"Vince, did you bring your knife with you?"
Mr. Fisk grabbed the knife, taking it out of its scabbard and swinging it around in his fingers.
"Haven't really had the chance to use it, yet, I mainly brought it to remind me of you. You got me this for my fiftieth, ?"
He asked to which his friend nodded.
"I was worried about you, pal."
"Well thankfully, I'm okay now, and that ain't changing anytime soon!"
Jacob replied, giving Vincent a small jab on his shoulder before the two of them ed the team in the main room.
"The threat has been dealt with, there is no need to worry now!"
The team let out a combined sigh of relief, with Shauna wiping away her panicked tears. They were safe, for now...

Despite the sudden attack, the journey was shorter than what had been anticipated. The submarine pulled over to the docks of the city, a city drowned in mist. One by one, the team climbed out through the top entrance, with Led going first. Upon getting on land again, Led began panting hard, now relieved that the hardest part of the journey thus far had ended, though there was still the Shark Kingdom.
Once the whole team was out, Sargent Gunn and Mr. Fisk began taking orders as the submarine disappeared into the water.
"The General said that our ride doesn't come for another hour. He's meeting us in the town center. He'll take us to the other side of the city. Until then, we lay low and refresh ourselves before the fight."
"Can't we just go to the Shark Kingdom now?"
Led asked the Sargent.
"This is a large city and none of us know the way around it. Instead of fumbling around like headless fish, we stick together."
Mr. Fisk answered.
"Back to you, Jacob."
Sargent Gunn looked at the whole team and nodded at them with pride.
"It's a miracle how we've come this far. I'm proud of you all! Now, let's march toward the end! Come on!"
He said before exiting the dock, followed by the team. All that they could do now was move forward and prepare for what was to come. Despite them knowing that a fair few won't make it out alive, they still marched on.
