→ We all know of the curse on the DADA professors since 1955. What do you think happened to earlier Defense Against the Dark?
╰┈➤ In the Harry Potter series, we might have noticed that the role of the Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA) teacher at Hogwarts changes almost every year. This rotation of instructors is due to a curse that affects the DADA position, a curse with its origins tied to the series' main antagonist, Voldemort.
When Voldemort was a student at Hogwarts, he wanted to become the DADA teacher, but he was denied the role by the then-Heaster, Professor Dumbledore. In response, he placed a curse on the job, making it exceptionally challenging for any teacher to keep the position for more than one school year.
╰┈➤ Okay, so in my opinion (just a speculation), it is likely that earlier DADA professors faced their own unique challenge and threats. Maybe some encountered dark creatures and dealing with magial creatures, some could have faced confrontations with dark wizards or witch and perhaps some suffers illness
