         𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙥𝙖! This is Elias, back with another debate entry blog, currently discussing if a magically binding contract is a valid reason for Harry to have to participate in the Triwizard Tournament. Valid or not, we shall see. Let's start with the reasons why it is indeed valid for Harry to participate in the tournament.

          As aware, the Goblet is a sentient being almost like the Sorting hat. It's choice of champion is impartial and based off on who is judged most worthy to represent their school.

         The goblet has been tasked with the choosing of the champions of the Triwizard Tournament and can be the only being to istrate the Magical binding contract.

          With the current rules of the Triwizard Tournament, including that of the Magical binding contract, if the Goblet has chosen your name, you must continue and complete the tournament fully.

           This magical binding contract and the act of it didn't describe that in cases of treachery or meddling with the Goblet itself, the name that was chosen was not valid or invalid to the competition and it's magical binding contract. Meaning, Harry would have to abide by this simple and yet very clear rule.

           Whether Barty Crouch Junior put Harry's name in the Goblet in order of Lord Voldemort or whether an older student puts the name in the Goblet for Harry, the Goblet does not read who wrote the message.

           Albus Dumbledore drew an age line in the Triwizard Tournament of 1994, which hadn't happened in the previous years of the tournament.

           This age line was the only detector of underaged wizards, trying to put their names in the Goblet. However, aside from warnings about asking older students and older wizards to do it for you, Dumbledore hasn't spoken about the consequences of whence it has been done.

           The Goblet of fire, being a sentient being, only lits his fire when it is time for the tournament. Aside from this, the Goblet spits out the names when the decision has been made after 24 hours.

            Since the Goblet doesn't detect who wrote the message but only accepts names and schools, it would still be valid for Harry to compete in the tournament.

            The reason why the Goblet of fire spit out another student's name is because it had been confunded by Barty Crouch Junior, into thinking there was a fourth school itting into the tournament.

              This act had gone by unnoticed, since Barty had been using Polyjuice potion to turn into Mad Eye Moody.

              Not even Albus Dumbledore or Bartimus Crouch knew that he had tailored with the Goblet's mind. It being the only reason for a fourth student.

              Since the Magical binding contract is magically binding a student to preform and act in the entire Triwizard Tournament, a confundus charm doesn't state to be the exception for this magical contract nor does it give reason of it being invalid to the Goblet of fire.

             And because the Goblet of Fire's magically binding contract doesn't state that in cases of mind altering spells, the champions don't have to compete, Harry would still, been a valid chosen champion and would need to compete in the tournament either way.

               𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 this debate for the Magical binding contract. I know that contracts can be annoying and the small letters are probably the most important ones there are.

                I chose to do the debate for the contract since I thought that to be the hardest one to do. Hopefully debaters who pick the against side have a little more to work with than I did.
