there is a dog scratching at the door and she can hear footsteps, a deep voice following it as the footsteps grew closer. the dog continues scratching at the door and the footsteps are right there and — she wakes up with a start.
the body next to her is resting peacefully. he’s laying on his side, his back facing towards her. she can hear his breathing, in and out, in and out. it’s gentle, a large comparison to the way he usually acts around others. his hair isn’t too messy, and he looks peaceful. the blanket is tucked under his arm, and she can feel the heat radiating off of him from under the blankets.
she sits up and just ires him for a while, her eyes gentle as they look at his figure. the red light from the digital clock on his nightstand is bright in the dark room, and it reads 4:29 A.M. she sighs and brings her hand up to run through her hair and then down her face, glancing out the window. the streetlights bleed in through the blinds, illuminating the carpet on the floor. the headboard covers them from the light, but it barely touches the foot of the bed. after a few minutes, she glances back to the clock. 4:34 A.M.
she needed to sleep and she knew it, but she couldn’t get herself to move from her sitting position. it takes her a minute or two before she finds it in her to lay back down, looking up to the ceiling as she lays there. her eyes close for a moment before she opens them again at the sound of a baby crying.
it’s faint, but she can hear it. she lifts her head up, turning it slightly. 4:48 A.M. she sits up again, her hand going to the edge of the blanket when she feels him shifting next to her. “do you want me to get her?” he asks. his voice is a little deeper than it usually is when he’s awake and it makes a small smile play on her lips. “i can get her. i think she’s hungry,” she says quietly, leaning over and pressing a small kiss to his temple. there’s a small grunt that leaves him and he rolls onto his back, his arm loosely wrapping around her hips. “what’s the time?” he doesn’t open his eyes, but his brows are furrowed slightly. “it’s 4:49 now,” she murmurs quietly, looking at him before hesitantly pulling away from him. “early bird gets the worm,” he mumbled. “although in this sense—” he starts, “shut up.” she interrupts him, looking at him and she can see a slightly amused look on his face as she walks out of the bedroom and into the one just down the hall.

‣ her overall personality depends on who you are. there are the people that she doesn’t like, the people that she likes, and the people she is close to. her personality depends on who you are and first impressions, but she’s generally described as being someone who has an undying loyalty.
to people who don’t know her or that she’s not comfortable with: she can be very, very shy. if she’s not close to you, she usually doesn’t trust you but wouldn’t necessarily be mean or rude to you unless she’s given a reason to be rude. elliotte doesn’t like confrontations, so she tries to avoid it as much as she can. she’s noted to be incredibly quiet in situations like these.

‣ elliotte deals with body dysmorphia, depression, anorexia nervosa, anxiety, adhd, ptsd and quiet bipolar disorder. with elliotte’s body dysmorphia, she will often see her body as being warped or looking completely different from other people’s bodies (most specifically women), and will often want to change her look. she developed this as a child after watching her mother constantly put down/make comments on her own body image, which affected poorly to elliotte. this also adds in on her anorexia, as she will have a distorted body image/feel bloated after she may eat too much, and then she’ll decide to quit eating. her depression and anxiety cause her a lot of stress. her depression gets noticeably worse in the winter and sometimes in spring (has seasonal depression), and while she tries to take care of herself, sometimes it can lead to her forgetting to brush her teeth or eating. she’s been known to shut herself off when this does happen, as she believes that she should deal with it alone and not with someone around her. her anxiety happens more with other people, especially during school or around her family. dusana does overthink a lot and does it to the smallest things (she overthinks about what she’ll eat). it’s a hard habit for her to get out of.
elliotte also has ptsd, adhd and quiet bipolar disorder. her ptsd was developed from her family, although a big part of it was from a dog fight. the first part of her ptsd was with her mother and father. they were both mentally and verbally abusive, although her mother was emotionally manipulative. this has caused her a lot of stress due to the idea of “other people have it worse”, the fact that her parents never hit her as a child and that she has a roof over her head. she also has adhd. elliotte’s adhd causes her to have intrusive thoughts, and these thoughts may make it difficult for her to focus unless she actually acts them out.
she also has quiet bpd, which is a subtype of bpd (bipolar disorder), and it’s where a person who has quiet bpd (or silent bpd) doesn’t express their emotions, and instead turns to deal with them internally. this can cause a lot of self-destructive behaviors/habits. since she deal with her emotions internally, elliotte deals with a lot of mood swings, and can sometimes take certain things personally depending on their mood. due to dealing with emotions internally, it can cause an outburst. while it’s usually hard to tell if she’s holding something in, sometimes she can let it slip.

‣ elliotte is neurodivergent. she have a lot of sensory issues, which mostly deal with textures, lights and sound. she does have a difficult time telling tones in person (although they’re able to tell sarcasm apart), she has a lot of non-verbal stims, and prefers non-verbal stims, as verbal things can distract her. she will usually have a hard time with understanding social cues.
elliotte deals with a lot of headaches. they are normally stress related headaches, but she gets them constantly and she can become snappy or irritable because of it.

born in kodiak, alaska, in 1975 after a premature birth, she was put in the icu for about three months before she was allowed to go home. after going home, she bonded quickly with her father rather than her mother, so she grew up a daddy’s girl more than a mommy’s girl. her family remained in kodiak until her father was stationed to fairbanks, and her family moved to fairbanks. while she grew up, she struggled a bit more with some health issues, which included some walking and talking concerns.
three years later, her younger brother, noah, was born. around the same time her brother was born, her half-sister, makayla, moved up to live with her father for about three years. while growing up, elliotte didn’t really have a lot of parental figures around. her father was often busy with his job, and when he was home to watch the children, her mother would often be away on her own job.
noah was favored a lot more between him and elliotte, so elliotte was often by herself, even with her father around.
at around five years old, elliotte was assaulted by makayla. this affected their relationship, mainly due to how young elliotte was when it happened and because it was a confusing situation for her to be in. it caused their relationship to fall apart rapidly, and she became much closer with her brother than with her sister. a year after the assault, makayla’s mother gained full custody and makayla moved back with her mother.
the relationship between her mother and father became more strained and fights were much more frequent. since she was older, elliotte would often be left home alone with her brother and usually raised him by herself. her mother would abandon them for weeks at a time, mainly without food and her father would often be busy with his own work so he wasn’t around a lot to care for his children. this continued for several more years before he was discharged when elliotte was around twelve.
while they lived in alaska, elliotte grew close with a family friend, michael parsons. michael was pretty close to james, but he ended up getting close to elliotte and groomed her into a slight relationship, although it ended after five months.
at twelve years old, elliotte and her brother moved down to new jersey to live with their grandparents while her parents’ divorce was finalized and her father was finding a way to get out of alaska and return to new jersey. in new jersey, elliotte and her brother lived with their grandparents. while normally things were well, her grandparents would often make them attend church and their grandparents could be very neglectful to elliotte and her brother. a smaller portion of her trauma came from living with her grandparents.
during her time of being new to new jersey, she began to attend school in gotham city and soon met jack napier in 8th grade.
after her father moved to gotham city, elliotte moved back with her father and continued to attend school in gotham. during this period as well, her father met her step-mother, gianna. a year or so after they met, they got married.
beginning high school, elliotte was paired up in science class with jack napier. while an unexpected friendship, they often helped each other out a lot with their classes as their friendship grew. they hung out often and relied on each other for several things. they grew closer their sophomore, and developed feelings for each other. they started dating during the second semester of their sophomore year, and dated all throughout highschool.
after graduating from highschool, elliotte went to college for her art degree while jack ed the military. they were married her junior year of college (in 1998), later moved after her graduation in 1999.
they lived comfortably and had talked about having a family before. in 2001, america went to war with afghanistan. shortly before jack’s deployment in 2002, elliotte found out she was pregnant with their first child. due to the stresses of his deployment and already on-going complications with her pregnancy, elliotte miscarried. jack was pronounced m.i.a, and later assumed to be dead after he was unable to be located after being captured.
after losing her husband, elliotte moved back to gotham city. in 2003 (or 2004, can vary), he returned to elliotte, although he had a glasgow smile from his time in captivity. she later became pregnant again and successfully carried to term, and had their daughter, bonnie.

‣ anna was born in america in florida to a slightly religious family. her family wasn’t incredibly religious, but enough to where it was in her daily life. she moved once or twice throughout her life, and met her husband, james, when they were about 19 years old. they got married and soon after, they had their first daughter together. about three years after that, they had their first son. they remained together for a while, although as time went on, anna and james divorced. anna grew more absent in the lives of her children and eventually abandoned them.
she’s described as being very distant, narcissistic and mentally abusive. she will constantly come in and out of elliotte’s life and will lovebomb elliotte and her brother. her job is unknown, and she constantly lies about her current life. elliotte is not close to her mother at all.

‣ born in kentucky, james was in a family that had christian values but didn’t attend church regularly. he later moved to indiana and met one of his later girlfriends, the mother of his firstborn daughter, makayla. after he and makayla’s mother split up, he met his first wife, anna, and got married within a year of meeting. they had two children, elliotte and noah. they were later divorced and he remarried.
he’s described as being someone who isn’t very religious but does use christian teachings. he’s also described as being very harsh, stern and very difficult to please. james is noted to be very verbally abusive. he and elliotte had a slightly close relationship, although it eventually faded.

‣ gianna was born and raised in kentucky, around the same place that james was in. she first met james while at a school event, but never pursued a relationship. they would later remeet in gotham city, and started dating before they got married.
not much is known about gianna, but she’s often described as being controlling. she stayed out of elliotte’s way a lot, but she babied her step-son.

‣ born in indiana, her mother and father split shortly after her birth. due to her mother’s want of , her father had 50/50 custody. makayla grew up close to her father. when she was around two years old, her father met anna and they later had her younger sister, elliotte and later her youngest brother, noah. anna wasn’t really a mother figure to makayla, so they weren’t very close. when elliotte was around four/five and makayla was around seven, makayla assaulted elliotte. they grew up a lot less close from there on.
makayla is described as being very manipulative and can play her emotions quite well. she’s religious, although there have been periods of times where she has rebelled occasionally. she lives in indiana with her mother. makayla and elliotte have a very rocky and unsteady relationship.

‣ born three years after elliotte, he’s always been the favored sibling of the two. he was favored by their mother, although was later left by their mother. due to the abandonment, elliotte mainly took care of her brother. although as they grew up, they became less close.
noah is said to have been a little cocky and a bit of a douche as he grew up, but he was a good brother overall when it came down to things. elliotte was incredibly protective over him, even if they grew apart over the years.

‣ michael parsons is a family friend of the daltrey’s. he was born in michigan and served in the military with james, and later moved to new jersey to be closer to james and his family. while he’s mostly close to james, he has been known to be close to some of the kids too. he’s noted to be a junkie.
he was around a lot when elliotte was around ten/eleven years old, and got close to her. his closeness ended up in a grooming relationship between the two of them. this lead her down a path of spiraling depression and she typically avoids any man older than her that she is not comfortable with due to this experience. she dislikes talking about it.

‣ meeting him in their 8th grade year, elliotte wasn’t super close to jack until their freshman year of highschool. they didn’t talk much until highschool, when they were partnered up in science class. he was much more skilled in science and math classes than she was, so they helped each other often. they were friends until the second semester of their sophomore year, where they started dating. after highschool, elliotte went to college while he ed the military. they got married some time between her sophomore and junior year of college.
contrary to belief, elliotte and jack are very close and rely on each other with a lot of things. she is aware of his “joker” persona, and while she doesn’t encourage it, she doesn’t shoot it down either.
