So seeing as I missed a day and can't get it back (due to personal reasons) . May as well combine the two prompts seeing as it sparked an idea.

The bulky radio was perched on a tilted shelf on the far most wall from the door. Walking in to the cafe it was the first thing most people took note of. It was quite big and honestly, it's a shock that the shelf it lived on had yet to collapse from its weight.
The cafe was a safe place for some people, a hidden solace in their day. They'd grab a drink and find their preferred seat, always empty as though waiting for them. Take a big gulp of their drink of choice and sit their for a short while first. Then the sharp silence of the cafe would drift away as a music started on the radio coaxing them to relax.
For the stressed out young man scribbling furiously away in a notebook the soft tunes of jazz reached him. His hunched shoulder relaxing and the frownlines on his forehead vanishing.
For the goth teen closer to the front of the shop, her fingers unclenched from her coffee cup as the sound of classic music reached her ears. Her eyes unfocusing as she languidly blinked staring out of the window.
And for the college student typing at his laptop, he didn't bat an eyelid as the rough tones and loud voices of metal music washed over the shop. His deadline was in 2 hours and he wasn't going to so much as question why the owner of the shop always had the same type of music on.
Through all of this the owner looked on wiping away at a used coffee cup as her eyes flittered around to gaze at the customers in her shop. A small smile rested on her lips. She could only hear glimpses of what the radio played for others as her own song filtered out frok the radio. Laughter from a young child, the voices of her loved ones. Never a proper song like the others heard but a song of her choice nonetheless.
The bell above the door jingled causing her to turn away from the others.
"welcome!" she said. She wondered what song the radio would play for them.
