My entry for the November theme! #DuelTheme I'm not completely satisfied with it but what do you do.
The word in the middle should be Russian for duel. (I am not Russian and may be entirely wrong.)
The flower petals following Pierre's bullet (left):
Nastrium: victory in battle
Marigold: cruelty and coldness due to jealousy
The flower petals following Dolokhov's bullet (right):
Mourning bride: I have lost all (I meant this as "I have lost" but couldn't find a flower that more accurately meant defeat)
Milkvetch: Your presence softens my pain (you being Hélène)
The petals following Dolokhov's bullet are cold colours, to represent his cold and cruel nature. Pierre's petals are warm colours, representing his friendly and warm nature.
The meanings of the flowers are also a bit contradictory. It's to indicate that Pierre may have won the duel, but at the end of the day he hasn't won anything as Hélène still isn't in lovw with him nor is she faithful.
I put way too much thought into this, but I hope you enjoyed my small essay.
