SBS will be airing a Chuseok special all about BTS!

With Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) coming up next month, SBS has announced that they will be airing a special BTS-themed variety show over this year’s holiday.

Named “BTS Variety Chronicles” (literal translation), the special will feature an entertaining collection of BTS’s greatest moments on various SBS variety shows, ranked in order of their hilarity.

“BTS Variety Chronicles” will be hosted by experienced variety MC Kim Sung Joo, comedian and idol expert Jung Hyung Don, and announcer Jang Ye Won. The show will air sometime during the 2019 Chuseok holiday (September 12 to 14).

BTS NOW HAS 9 NO. 1 ALBUMS ON THE WORLD ALBUMS CHART

BTS once again takes No. 1 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, this week with “BTS World” in the top spot for the first time!

On the World Albums chart for the week ending in August 17, BTS’s mobile game soundtrack “BTS World” takes No. 1. This is the album’s sixth week on the chart but first time at the top, and it rises from No. 9 last week. It is now BTS’s ninth release to hit No. 1 on the World Albums chart.

BTS typically has no issue hitting No. 1 on several Billboard charts whenever they have new music available, so it was curious when the latest album from the group failed to perform as well as it should have just a few weeks ago. Now, the set has risen to its rightful spot, and it has helped the group extend their reign as the most successful name in their field in at least one respect.

The K-pop outfit’s latest full-length collection of new music BTS World jumps from No. 9 all the way to No. 1 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, which ranks the “top-selling world music albums, ranked by sales data as compiled by Nielsen Music,” according to the chart company itself.

BTS World is the band’s ninth leader on the tally, which is easily enough to grant them the honor of being the K-pop act with the most No. 1s on the chart. In fact, they already claimed that title before this frame, and now they’ve put even more distance between themselves and every other soloist or group working in that style of music.

Impressively, BTS has snagged all nine of their No. 1 albums in just five years. They first reached the penthouse on the World Albums chart back in 2015 with The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Pt. 2 and since then, they’ve been on quite the historic roll.

As if claiming the No. 1 spot once again wasn’t enough, BTS currently owns four of the top five spots on the World Albums chart, as their most recent releases—Love Yourself: Tear, Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona and BTS World—all continue to perform well.

Jungkook’s solo “Euphoria” has done nothing but smash records since it debuted in August 2018. Now, nearly a year later, it has broken a record previously held by BIGBANG‘s Taeyang.

On August 13, “Euphoria” re-entered this chart at No. 20, for a total of 22 charting weeks. As such, Jungkook is now the longest-charting, solo male K-Pop idol on the “Billboard World Digital Song Sales” chart.

August Boy Group Member Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for individual boy group !

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes of 527 boy group , using big data collected from July 15 to August 16.

BTS swept the top three spots on this month’s list, with Jimin, V, and Jungkook coming in at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 respectively. Jimin topped the rankings for the eighth consecutive month, scoring a total brand reputation index of 9,076,953 for August.

High-ranking phrases in Jimin’s keyword analysis included “ARMY,” “fan club,” and “break,” while his highest-ranking related included “sexy,” “record,” and “donate.” His positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 85.59 percent positive reactions.

V rose to second place on the list after his brand reputation index increased by an impressive 53.32 percent to 8,012,641 for August, while Jungkook claimed third place with an index of 6,449,652.
