Fantagio: A Brief Guide

Buckle up kids, we're in for an

informational ride.

                                                                   

Foundation:

A South Korean entertainment

company based out of Seoul.

Fantagio (판타지오) wasn't always

known as Fantagio.

(say whaaat?)

That's right, when the company first

founded in September of 2008 they

were known as NOA Entertainment.

However, in June of 2011, they

rebranded as Fantagio Entertainment.

You may wonder why they wanted the

change? The answer is quite simple.

They were looking for a name that

would help them have better influence

in the industry and be represent their

goal of being unrestrained by convention.

The company's founder:

Na Byung-Jun

In December of 2018 he resigned

from Fantagio and is now launching

a new company, STARDIUM.

After his resignation the company

was taken over by their new CEO:

Wei Jie

Wei Jie, a representative from a chinese

investment company, JC Incorporated

(Fantgio's largest investors) replaced

Na Byung-Jun after he was dismissed.

Side Note:

Byung-Jun's dismissal sparked a lot of

controversy within Korea that involved

KEMA.

Recording Artists:

Of course, as an entertainment

company, they have signed many

actors and actresses.

For sake of relevance I will mention

their current recording artists.

Hello Venus:

(2012-present)

Currently a six member girl group.

They debuted with their lead single

Venus.

Over time the group changed and

they are the most well known for

songs like I'm Ill

Astro:

(2016-present)

Six member boy group.

(as if y'all didn't know this)

Debuting with Hide & Seek.

most recently they released their

newest album All Light.

Weki Meki:

(2017-present)

Eight member girl group.

Debuting with I don't Like Your Girlfriend.

They have recently released a

song called Crush.

                                                                   

Financial Outlook:

Since the change in leadership

Fantagio as a whole has seen

a good deal of financial gain.

This upswing is really promising

for us as fans because the

company had accrued a steep

about of debt at ~8.5 billion won,

while their assets were valued at

~1.6 billion won, in 2017.

Since September their revenue is up

by 31.56% which is some progress.

However, it will take time for a smaller

company like this to get out of the debt.
