Hey all! Cid here and today I’d like to share with you my hair dyeing process during quarantine! This is the second time I’ve dyed my hair a cool color, and I thought you might like it! So, let’s get started!

With my hair, my natural color is kind of a medium blonde color. It’s pretty light so dye takes to it okay. For this time around though, I started out with a sort of pale blue color.

In order to prepare for this process, I decided to shampoo and dry my hair beforehand. From there, I got to work!

First things first, I bought the dye. I bought it from one of my local beauty stores for around $9.00 + tax. Because my hair is so short, I only used about half of the tube that it came in. Although, for more vibrant results, one could use an entire tube or more to achieve a more colorful look.

I decided to use a paper plate and a brush to apply the color.

This process took roughly 15-20 minutes to complete. I used my phone’s front camera to shine into my mirror to make sure my head was covered nicely. I applied more to the top and a little less on the sides — I’m not too concerned about my entire head being covered but I wanted to make sure the top of my head was covered nicely.

After that was finished, I waited about 40 minutes for the dye to set in. If I could do it over, I would have taken some gloves and massaged the dye into my hair more...but that’s okay.

After the 40 minutes, I rinsed my hair with cold water until it ran clear. Afterwards, I wrapped my hair in a towel and let it dry.

I’m not quite sure what I was expecting, but I don’t think it turned out too badly! There were a few patches I could have gotten better, but that’s for another day.

It’s been kinda fun to change my hair color lately! And, it’s been nice to have the dye wash out after a couple of weeks. No need to worry about bleaching it out or anything :)

Over all, I would declare this hair dye adventure a success! I think in the future though, I’ll go see a hair stylist to have them dye my hair. However, it’s pretty cool that it’s possible to do this at home!
