This prompt kinda just screamed fanfiction, so.... that where this came from. It’s from the anime, Kuroko no Basket and written from the point of view of Tetsuya.

Stay Away From Me

At first it was platonic, we were nothing more than basketball partners. I was his shadow and he was my light. The relationship worked so well because he shone so brightly. It made my job easier, I was able to blend into the background and the ball around for easier baskets. It was with this talent that I figured it would be possible. With him as my light, I believed it might be possible for Seirin to take down the Generation of Miracles. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, even if we managed to beat four of them, we would still have to face him in the end.

It was because of him that I tried my hardest to resist feeling anything other than friendship towards Taiga. I just knew he wouldn’t take it very well. But despite my best efforts I couldn’t stay away from Taiga. My heart clenched painfully when Alex first showed up. The way that she kissed Taiga in a way that I could only wish I could. It was continued interactions with Alex and all of the other fangirls that showed up to our matches to watch Taiga play, that made me realize how hard I had fallen for Taiga.

I wanted to tell him. But Seijūrō would never approve. So I kept up the farce, that we were nothing more than platonic partners, even though I wanted to be so much more.

The danger came even closer at an almost rapid pace when Taiga pulled me aside after one of our matches and confessed that he liked me. In that moment of surprise and shock, my lips moved before my mind could tell them not to. I told Taiga that I reciprocated his feelings.

It was then that I had my first kiss with Taiga. His lips were soft and warm and it was quickly established that Taiga was the dominant one as he deepened the kiss. I enjoyed the moment for several minutes until I ed why I shouldn’t be doing this.

I pulled away rapidly and shook my head a few times before the words tumbled out of my mouth that we shouldn’t be doing this. Taiga should stay away from me, he’d be in danger if he didn’t. Taiga was obviously confused and asked why it was dangerous for us to date it we both liked the other. The guys in the team would probably be okay with it, they’d be shocked for sure, but Taiga said he doubted that they would care.

I slowly shook my head and whispered that it wasn’t the team I was worried about. It was my brother. I now had to it to Taiga, my long kept secret. The Generation of Miracles were my former teammates. But there was one that was closer to me than that. One of them was my half-brother. We didn’t share a last name, we had the same father but I took my mother’s last name. As a sickly child, I wasn’t allowed to associate myself with the Akashi name. Despite this, Seijūrō always looked after me, like an older brother should. Though perhaps too much. I know he doesn’t want me to be hurt but he sometimes takes the protective instinct to the extreme.

Taiga was shocked to say the least as he listened to my story. He had no idea that Seijūrō was my brother. I had expected this news to put some caution in Taiga’s mind. To take this new found part of our relationship a little bit slower. However to my surprise despite the potential danger, Taiga simply shrugged and said he didn’t care what Seijūrō did, it wasn’t going to stop him from liking me.

It was those words that convinced me that maybe this would be okay, maybe we could hide it from Seijūrō and be able to be together. How wrong I was. My brother being who he was, he of course found out about our relationship. When Taiga showed up to the meeting between the Generation of Miracles that Seijūrō called, it was then that danger came closer to Taiga than ever before.

Using Midorima’s scissors, Seijūrō made a swipe at Taiga’s face. If Taiga hadn’t dodged he would’ve been seriously hurt. Seijūrō didn’t say anything directly about knowing about our relationship, but it was that look in his eyes that told me that he knew. He was warning Taiga to stay away.

Afterwards, I told Taiga that we shouldn’t do this, the closer he got to me the more danger he was in due to Seijūrō. He shouldn’t risk his safety just to be with me. Stay away from me, I told him.

Taiga scoffed and simply shut me up with a kiss.

And there’s my entry for the prompt for WAC! I’m not sure what to say about this entry other than the fact that I really like this pairing, after rewatching the series a couple of times, I saw more of Kagami and Kuroko’s dynamic and the moments that they had together that could easily be interpreted to be more of romantic one.

I’m not completely satisfied with how I wrote this but it turned out decently I suppose.
