“Hey, uh... They mixed up again”

Today I bring you a fanfic for the Phanfic Club!

The month we had to write in a genre or in a way the we don’t usually write! I usually write angst or psychological thrillers

So I brought some fluffy tattoo/flower shop au to the party!

. The mechanical and almost hypnotic buzz of my tattoo gun is interrupted by the bell at the front door. Looking up, I noticed a tall, shy looking boy wearing baby blue overalls with a UPS box in his hands. His messy hair curls right above his right eye and the style of it makes me think that it may have once been styled in a more edgy, My Chemical Romance-esce style.

“I uh- Hey! The mail lady got us mixed up again…” he steps forward, waiting for me to leave my client and retrieve the mysterious package.

“Alright. One sec.” I then wrap things up with my client, adding the last few pieces of shading around the snake scales. “Alright. If you could stand up and look at your tattoo in the mirror for me, I’ll get you all wrapped up in just a moment.” My client responds with a bubbly little “Okay!” and I head over to get the package.

“I don’t really know how they keep mixing us up. I mean- we have two every different t businesses…” With the package still in hand, he turns and looks out the two black French style doors and his eyes land on an adorably well-kept flower shop across the street.

“I dunno, bud. Maybe it’s their way of telling you-“ I take the package out of his hands while he distractedly watches a butterfly march around his hanging baskets outside. I struggle with the cardboard and tape but eventually get it. “Sorry. Maybe it’s their way of telling you that you need a new tattoo.” I accent the suggestion with a little smile while I pull out what seems to be a new tattoo gun. I can tell just the sight of it makes him nervous.

“No, that’s okay!” A little nervous giggle bubbles from his lips and I can see his cheeks turn a delicate shade of cherry blossom pink. The color is beautiful, it works well with the gentle curls of his chocolate brown hair. “I’m not interested in tattoos. They look like they hurt and I’m more of a gentle guy.” Again, he references out the window at his flower shop and I can’t help but laugh.

“Yeah, yeah. Okay. Maybe next time.” I give him one last smile before he turns on his way, whispering a soft goodbye.

“Oof now who was that cutie? My client is now leaning over the counter, trying her best to get as much of her nose into my business as she can manage.

“That there is Dan Howell. He runs the flower shop next door.” I reluctantly tear my eyes away from the window and back to my client. “Anyways. Do you like the tattoo?” I quickly try to change the subject. She insists that we don’t.

“Oh, no no. We’re not ignoring this. You obviously like him! And based on how shy and sheepish that boy is around you, I think he liked you too. Just look how he acts outside.” My client points out the window where we see Dan talking with customers, probably translating the love language of every single flower in sight. “But when he’s in here, he can barely speak. I think he likes you, Phil.” She punches my arm. “And the tattoo is wonderful. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome…” I smile softly. “But seriously? He acts almost terrified when he comes in here. I don’t think he likes me. I think he’s just being nice, bringing me my packages, and running out as soon as he can.” My client sighs and shakes her head.

“You’re hopeless.. You didn’t even notice the eyes he gave you earlier when he came in, Phil. I’m starting to think that I can’t even help your clueless self…”
