Hello Artists!
Today we thought we would discuss the question of whether there is such a thing as artistic talent. There seems to be a debate as to whether someone is born with artistic ability where other have to work harder reach their level. Do you think natural talent exists or is artistic skill simply dedication and hard work?

I think that there is such thing as talent, but it is just a head start. If you don't do anything with your talent, it will wither and die over time. And just because you don't have talent, doesn't mean you can't build up a skill. That's where ion comes in; with enough ion and time, you can reach and sur someone with talent who is idle.

I believe that we are born with different levels of talent but with practice, everyone can get better. Some may have an easier start but talent is not what matters in the end, dedication matters.
I believe talent does exist, but not in such great quantities that people think it does. It can only get you so far, and behind every good artist there is more hard work and dedication than anything they were just born with. Even if you are naturally predisposed to a thing - be it art or sports or what have you - you still have to practice and learn and put the work in.
This is part of why it kind of irks me when people say “oh you’re so talented!” I get that it’s meant as a compliment, but it’s not talent that got me to where I am. It was skill and practice, damn near six years of it. Being good at art doesn’t just fall into your lap - you have to work at it like any other worthwhile venture.
I think that yes talent does exist.
Similar to people who are just "gifted" or those that have a natural affinity for things like sports or dance, artists can have a natural affinity and talent or gift for art. Now talent isn't the only factor. I mean artists do practice alot just like Simone Biles and Michael Jackson are/were talented but they practiced their craft alot
