[B]A Letter to Bidwill

A Letter to Bidwill
Mr. Bidwill,
I’ll attempt to keep this brief. I’ll begin with what sparked my fandom for the Arizona Cardinals. This is a public letter, so to all those reading, what you are about to read next is true. I it to it. Mr. Bidwill, I began my fandom for this organization as a bandwagon. I mean how could I not? The organization was performing beautifully, Larry’s playoff heroics in 2015 against the Packers only solidified my thinking.
I had to jump on to this future elite squad’s organization. Besides, I’d need to brag at school about my team and if I chose a team with the fate of the Browns, it would be all over. The Cardinals were my team, red and black were my favorite colors, the team was coming off of a championship appearance, nothing could go wrong right? RIGHT?!
Guess what? It did. That’s my purpose for this public letter today. Ever since the beginning of my love and for this organization, all the cards I’ve been dealt have been crazy eights.
It’s not all the fault of the Cardinals, it’s hard to control player retirements and Carson was getting up there in age. However what is inexcusable is the team’s inability to develop talent, the abomination of all their ironic moves, and the constant need to fix old errors by making riskier moves.
Well okay? We draft Nkemdiche and Reddick immediately after this point. We had a late first when we drafted the former, so sometimes you take a risk on a project, okay sure understandable. Yet with your inability to develop defensive talent, you draft Reddick and get jumped for Mahomes in the process. It’s clear that quarterback was an important need yet nothing was done and now it hurts, it hurts bad.
Now Reddick is a great player, but when did we find that out? We found this out during his contract year. Why did it take so long? Easy. You guys played him out of position for years without ever giving him a chance to succeed and when you did, you were too late.
There’s more to speak about involving this team performance and evaluation of talents. However, there are more important topics I need to comprise in this letter. Yes, we as a fanbase understand you and general manager Steve Keim are buddies. He’s a great transactionist, keep him around for that. But for the love of god, please fix the talent evaluating department or else this team will end up looking different every year because we can’t keep or develop talent correctly.
My suggestion? Create a role for this concept. New ideas are being implemented into the league all the time. It definitely doesn’t hurt here to help give a chance to another guy to improve this team through the draft. Keim has executed a ton of other stupid moves in the opinion of your fanbase but what I just touched base on makes his biggest issue clear.
Now with the past out of the way, let me talk about the present. I am very thankful for where our standing is in the league. It could be so much better but hey, a lot of fans would be happy to be in our position. I of course can’t forget, Kyler Murray! Thank you for drafting him and proving me wrong. We have our future quarterback and I’m so thankful for that.
My point for writing this letter is to let you know that the fanbase is desperately asking you to run this organization like the elite teams in the league. Don’t give your friends second chances and don’t give our enemies opportunities. Work on building our roster so we can compete for years instead of being a top 15 team for 2 years and retiring into the dust like what happened after the beginning of my Cardinals fandom.
Until next time, superfan out.
P.S. Your fanbase wants new uniforms, your players want new uniforms, and this team has a new culture. Give us new uniforms Mr. Bidwill.
