Don't compare me to dying stars,
I'm a survivor of this world,
broken, true, but I survived;
I lived through both war and pain,
yet here I am, still marching on,
I often look back to the days
when problems were just petty,
but take a look at me now:
wielding the sharp blade of vengeance,
But, is it truly for vengeance?
Am I just somebody's hound?
No, I'm not, and never will,
I am a force of reckoning,
Don't compare me to dying stars,
And don't think of me as a saint,
for my heart's stowed in darkness,
it thrives and lives and breathes in
the fumes set by god Nemesis,
The ichor that's inside me, drained,
replaced by the blood of Death,
no, I'm not something holy,
but I am not something that's damned!
I'm a child born from blood and war,
the orphan of injustice,
and yet I am more humane
than those who preach what is "correct,"
Don't compare me to dying stars,
I am not here to watch mortals
just do whatever they pleased,
no, I am coming for them
holding a scythe and a trumpet,
But not for them, not the mortals,
I'm coming for their daemons,
I'm coming to the monsters
that made them twisted and evil,
You see, I'm not Death's messenger
nor am I his harbinger,
I am Reckoning himself,
I am who you may call Judgement!
Don't compare me to dying stars,
What I'm saying is not hubris;
for in hubris, there's falsehood,
but all that I say is true—
I have told not a single lie,
My words hold more power than yours,
than beings greater than I,
of those that dwell beneath, or
of those that live in the heavens,
I am what ends aeons-old gods,
be it Horus, Izanami,
even Zeus or Olorun;
I am here to reap old souls,
Don't compare me to dying stars,
For I, too, am of mortal blood;
Stars become supernovae,
but I will turn into dust,
for it is dust from whence I came,
I am a frail, mortal being,
yet my blood sings of epics,
of legends and myths alike
as if it longs to be written,
It craves to be told as a tale
of one ri against
divinity and evil,
against the author of this world,
Don't compare me to dying stars
for I am a dead, dead star.

Can I at least mention that your style of writing is too deep and really, really beautiful? Goosh. I appreciate it so much! Especially when perhaps your, or the imaginary character's feelings, come into solid form, really hits me to the heart. Strong at the same time dark, reminds me of some lyrics of "Demons" by Imagine Dragons, "Don't get too close, it's dark inside" :sparkles: 🖤 This is so breathtaking.

True. It really made quite an impact with its symbolism and all that.

Yep, indeed. And I think how the artist wrote its lyrics, the style is quite similar to how you write your poems, I have noticed.
